Job Summary: The team lead position is an important role within the Champions Billing Team, and is responsible for supporting all our Champions specialists, families and/or Center with questions, escalations regarding tuition and discounts, coordinating activities per site with subsidized programs and ensuring best practices and compliance with federal, state and local agencies are applied. The team lead works alongside both the Champions Billing Supervisor and specialists to promote a positive team environment. The team lead role is a great first step into leadership.

Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Build effective relationships with internal and external partners, including field operations, Customer Care and state agencies

  • Act as a role model and motivate and engage the Champion Billing team

  • As Subject Matter Expert, provide support to the team members and answer functional questions, helping team member with their developement.

  • Complete all Subsidy and private pay processes and maintain records for assigned sites in accordance with state agency, company and department guidelines.

  • Support department needs and team members that need help with their assigned sites in completing subsidy and private pay processes

  • Prepare, review and distribute performance metric reports to the team and leadership

  • Resolve and/or escalate issues as appropriate.

  • Align to company tuition strategy both in subsidy and private pay, goals and objectives and act as a change agent within the team.

  • Advocate for Champions families and children and influences positive change to the subsidy environment. Participates in agency meetings, advisory boards and pilots.

  • Provide input and assist Center management with business decisions related to managing tuition and subsidy programs and discount strategy changes.

  • Facilitate trainings to field operations, peers and agencies on subsidy and private pay processes

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for the department.

    Qualifications:


  • Experience with processing, tracking, and maintaining accurate data, in fields like accounting, tuition tracking, audit

  • Subsidy subject knowledge

  • Proficient computer skills covering financial systems and Microsoft Suite.

  • Demonstrated customer service and professionalism skills

  • Demonstrated conflict resolution and collaboration skills

  • Excellent professional verbal and written communication

  • Experience is leading a team, formally or informally.

  • Effective personal organizational skills, including ability to meet deadlines and work prioritization

  • Learning agility

  • Problem solving skills using an analytical lens.

  • Ability to navigate a fast pace, high volume environment.

    Work Conditions:


  • Must be able to work overtime hours as necessary

  • Must be able to withstand long periods of sitting and frequent use of computer and telephone
