Forward AirComplete is seeking full-time Carrier Relations Specialist at its Groveport, OH facility. Due to continued expansion, Forward Air, Inc. is seeking self-motivated individuals to successfully oversee our cartage agent network.
Core Responsibilities and Duties
Applicants should be able to develop carrier relationships, multitask, successfully coordinate between multiple departments, operations, service providers, communicate in a clear and professional manner, possess mid-level computer and typing skills, high attention to detail, ability to learn complex systems quickly, and have a positive attitude
Manage the final mile pricing tables
Manage available coverages and closures
Identify, select, and secure new carrier options to enhance the existing network
Onboard carriers via the application and contract process
Negotiate pricing agreements
Train new carriers on systems and requirements
Other Duties as assigned
Job Qualifications and Requirements:
College coursework and/or cartage and or transportation experience preferred but not required
If you do not have experience in these directly related fields, but are seriously considering a career move into the Logistic industry, then you may be considered if you can show proven, successful and consistent experience in another field
Professional, authoritative, and positive communication
Relevant experience can include cartage, transportation, logistics, line haul, intermodal, warehouse, ground operations, and pricing
Computer literate with at least entry level computer skills; systems used are Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Explorer, Email, and proprietary company programs
Vendor performance oversight with an approach that balances vendor accountability and partnership
Type 30+ WPM preferred
Multitasking in fast-paced environment
Multiple line phone system, calculator, and great math skills
Ability to successfully coordinate and collaborate between multiple departments and service providers
Self- motivated with critical thinking and problem solving skills
Skills:
Ideal candidate will possess a "can do" attitude with a "will do" work ethic
Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment
Experience with AS400 operating systems is a plus
Experience with Excel functions and macro's a plus
Experience with Access and query functions a plus
Transportation industry knowledge and experience is a plus
