Job Summary:

The Inventory Supervisor directs a team 3-4 people and performs the physical and administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing and distributing of materials and parts. The position verifies inventory against sale orders, maintains records of production control, and prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped. This role ensures security and accountability of inventory through transaction documentation, process and procedure verification, and system review. The job will also conduct physical inventories and leads cycle counts and analyze/correct cycle count discrepancies. The position audits outgoing shipments to assure quality and accuracy and compliance with GTC shipping requirements.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Leads the inventory control and shipping/receiving staff in daily functions to include document preparation, inventory management and shipping/receiving

  • Coordinates with Production Supervisor to ensure timely issuing of inventory and shipping of finished product

  • Coordinates with team to manage inventory through SAP

  • Prepare materials for shipping

  • Manages and organizes inventory system

  • Works with the team to plan, schedule and perform production activities

  • Assign daily workload to team members

  • Examine contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipments

  • Reads work orders/follows verbal instructions to ascertain materials or units to be moved through production

  • Unloads material from trucks, verifies quantity and quality, then places materials on storage racks

  • Processes all receiving and shipping paperwork and inputs data into computer utilizing SAP Enterprise System; attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on pieces, pallets or racks

  • Communicate with leadership to ensure projects are aligned with goals

  • Perform cycle counts and participate in inventory preparation and execution

  • Work effectively with Production, Engineering, Quality and Purchasing teams

  • Ensure that the team follows company policies and safety standards

Job Qualifications:


  • Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce

  • 5 + years of experience working in an inventory controlled environment required

  • Experience with cycle counts, part pulling, shipping/receiving, and handling of electronic components

  • Experience leading/managing a team or staff highly preferred

  • Strong computer skills are required for reporting and analytics, entering purchase receipts for incoming shipments, and keying in transactions

  • Experience working in an ISO certified environment preferred

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively as needed

  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication Skills

  • Must be detail oriented with ability to multi-task and prioritize

  • Organized and self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and as a team

  • Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Creative and resourceful

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
