The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As the Director of Clinical Research, you will provide oversight and leadership for global clinical research studies across 3M Health Care Business Group (HCBG).  You will be responsible for the successful design and execution of studies conducted on marketed products and new technologies in 3M’s research pipeline.  3M's Healthcare Business Group has a broad portfolio of products and is a market leader in many product categories.  The Healthcare Business Group Clinical team operates in a globally regulated environment with an excellent brand and quality reputation

As the Director of Clinical Research, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Leading a clinical research team responsible for the design and completion of clinical trials including study initiation, monitoring, close-out, analysis, and summary


• Establishing and maintaining processes to ensure the appropriate deployment of resources including staff on clinical study and priority programs


• Establishing and maintaining clinical study analytics for clinical team, divisions, and senior management


• Taking leadership/ownership of clinical standard operating procedures


• Establishing clinical study database(s) to communicate relevant study information

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution


• Ten (10) years of clinical research experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Master’s degree in a science related field


• Experience leading a clinical research execution team responsible for clinical trials


• Proven operational/process improvement experience such as Six Sigma


• Experience and knowledge with regulatory/regulated functions and relevant global guidance’s such as ICH and FDA guidelines


• Experience with new product development programs

Travel: May include up to 25% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
