This role will support Cigna's Project Cornerstone. Project Cornerstone is a critical, high-profile, multi-year project to modernize the foundational systems on which Cigna's Government Business Segment (GBS) operates. The Business Analytics Advisor will work collaboratively within an innovative team to ensure the success of the Cornerstone project in meeting the needs of the GBS Data & Analytics organization.

Reporting to theCornerstone Analytics Lead, this role willcoordinate with stakeholder partners across the business to provide partnershipin analytics, developing analytics solutions, leveraging data science and technologic capabilities and embedding analytics driven processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert content/professional leadership on complex Business Analytics assignments/projects.

• Partner with Global Data and Analytics (GD&A) and GBS D&A peers on enterprise-wide analytics data strategy. Ensure all analytical data strategy related work are complementary and in-sync.

• Perform complex data research and analysis to support business operations including: creating data mining architectures/models/protocols, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies to identify trends in large data sets.

• Conduct in-depth research with goal of breaking new ground in business data analytics. Creatively address business problems and leverage foundational platform changes to challenge the status quo .

• Perform analytics process, including data and analytic development. Ensure code is appropriately documented and can be understood by other analysts.

• Analyze results and present analytics in a consumable method using overview, major takeaways, major questions, and next steps.

• Maintain analytics skillset through understanding new technologies, modeling techniques, and the ability to translate the relevance to our priorities.

• Understand how our analytics affect the broader business and bridge gap between data science and stakeholders.

• Develop analytic solutions that meet the needs of the business.

• Ensure analytic approach and results are clearly understood by business partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, finance, or a related degree

• 3+years industry experience solving business problems through the application of analytic approaches.

• Hands-on experience with health care data. Experience in Medicare Advantage preferred.

• Business finance foundation in payer analytics and core payer concepts: eligibility, claims, revenue, risk adjustment, CMS payment methodology (IPPS, OPPS, SNF, etc.), and common KPIs.

• Use relevant technology/software to wrangle data, perform analytics, and visualize for consumption.

• Proficiency in performing statistical analysis in SAS/R/Python.

• SQL experience

• Demonstratedexperience inchallenging problems and driving outstanding results.

• Proven ability to work collaboratively in complexmatrix organizations and agileteams.

• Experience blendingcreativity, relentless problem-solving,and business and financial acumen.

• Strong verbal/written communication skills to work with various matrix partners.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
