Summary of Major Responsibilities

This position performs the functions of the Laboratory Order Associate under the guided direction of the department Supervisor or designee. In this role, the Laboratory Order Associate ensures the quality and integrity of the data received into Exact Sciences Laboratories from healthcare providers and other clients. The primary responsibilities of the position is the timely entry of test orders and the resolution of test order issues to include enrollment, entry and clarification. The Laboratory Order Associate may provide outreach to the provider to convey results or they may also contact the providers to complete order clarification activities. The Laboratory Order Associate will follow all outlined departmental policies, processes, and procedures to fulfill their defined role.

Sunday - Thursday, 8:00am - 4:30pm shift

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Responsible for the timely entry of orders and resolution of order issues or physician enrollment issues for Exact Sciences Laboratories to facilitate timely and accurate test ordering.
  • Identifies different types of documents upon receipt and process according to department established procedures.

  • Conducts all assigned job duties in a timely and productive manner.

  • Meets required metrics, as determined by supervisor.

  • Reports to work on time and follows attendance guidelines.

  • Ability to work in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.

  • You will be required to successfully complete an assessment showing understanding of Exact Sciences Epic processes necessary to the job functions with a score of 80% or higher. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications


  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • 6+ months of experience working in a data entry environment.

  • Proficient computer skills to include Internet navigation, Email usage, and word processing.

  • Proficient keyboarding skills. Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Demonstrated understanding of laboratory terminology.

  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and medical billing and insurance terms.
