Prudential’s Chief Data Office is seeking a EDP – Marketing/Customer Product Owner to drive the product vision and strategy, own the customer relationship and successfully lead a team toward the vision. The Product Owner will report into the Chief Product Owner, Data & Modeling Platforms and Head of Data Engineering and Ecosystems.  

 

As a Product Owner, this person will represent the voice of the customer. They are empowered to make on-the-spot decisions on scope and requirements, as well as manage and prioritize the Product Backlog to maximize business value. The successful candidate will be responsible for development of the strategic vision, roadmap, and evolution of Customer and MarTech data solutions and capabilities. In this role the Product Owner will develop a thorough understanding of customer and marketing data requirements, translate them into actionable plans that address legacy constrains and create holistic 360 view of a customer within the Enterprise Data Platform enabling the art of possible for analytics and data consumers.   

 

The successful candidate must have deep technical domain subject matter experience, bring a servant leader and strategic approach, employ strong communication skills and organizational awareness and an experimental mindset to drive innovation. 

Responsibilities:


  • Set ambitious and clear product vision and communicate ‘the story’ effectively to key stakeholders and the rest of the team 


  • Own the end-to-end product strategy from inception and determine business value once solution enters production 


  • Ensure alignment of product features and stories, i.e., review, give feedback, and prioritize user stories in line with own vision 


  • Continuously improve backlog with the team, ensuring all items are clearly described, estimated, and prioritized 


  • Ensure customer-driven design considering user pain points & usability test results, using market & industry knowledge as well as continual research, to deliver a well-positioned product 


  • Drive sprint and release plans together with the Scrum Master and organizational technology teams 


  • Work with Tech lead to build a modular & reusable solution 


  • Work with Architecture and Engineering teams across CDO and Global Technology to guide decisions on implementation patterns and detailed design and build 


  • Work closely with Customer Office, Marketing, Data Science and Business intelligence teams to ensure that prioritization of deliverables is business value driven, efficient use of resources achieved, and synergistic opportunities realized  


  • Partner with Data Management/Data Governance/MDM Product Owners for coordinating and configuring customer data capabilities


Skills/Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or a related field


  • Strong executive presence and written/verbal communications skills; formal presentation skills with ability to communicate complex messages and trade-offs to tell a compelling story 


  • Ability to conduct continuous exploration of customer needs using a variety of methods 


  • Ability to work effectively across the organization and influence a diverse group of stakeholders including small to large teams of technical experts 


  • Exhibits strategic thinking capabilities, problem solving skills, strong execution, and accountability for outcomes 


  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate with others and drive results 


  • Ability to translate business need into technical terms 


  • Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience turning data into actionable insights 


  • Balancing tactical outcomes and strategic direction 


  • Understands Lean-Agile principles and practices 


  • Global mindset 


  • Experience in Agile Development 


  • Deep knowledge of the implementation of the Customer 360 solutions that supports enterprise priorities and internal/external consumers  


  • Measure, estimate and track business outcomes and impact of Customer 360 initiatives
