Job Description:

The Global Technology Chief Data Office at Prudential is seeking a Vice President, Agile Delivery Lead & Data Science Product Owner to develop and implement lean agile delivery methodologies across the Chief Data Office (CDO).  Reporting into the Chief Strategist, Data & Data Science, this highly visible role  is a key leader in the delivery of team outcomes and driving successful adoption of scaled agile delivery capabilities across the CDO and across Prudential for CDO products.  This role helps achieve rapid growth objectives with a lean mindset in line with agility and business goals. 

  

Responsibilities 


  • Lead the adoption of lean agile methodologies across the CDO organization 


  • Execute the responsibilities of Data Science Product Owner for one or more teams 


  • Own and demonstrate the value of lean delivery practices across CDO portfolio of initiatives  


  • Partner with Global Technology’s Agile Transformation Office to set and drive adoption of New Ways of Working (Prudential’s Scaled Agile framework) with practical application across CDO teams and initiatives 


  • Partner with COO Agile coaches supporting the CDO and the NWOW teams across the CDO (Data Science, Business Intelligence, Platforms, BAU) to mature the CDO’s agile practice / adoption  


  • Employ KPIs as a source of truth to provide transparency, measure progress and drive continuous improvement for the CDO organization 


  • Implement tools and processes that enable the adoption of agile practices  


  • Be a trusted delivery partner with leaders across Prudential, providing Agile leadership. 


  • Influence executives, leaders, business units, and technology teams on CDO Agile principles, values, and techniques 


  • Decision maker and advisor for Agile governance within the CDO organization 


  • Define the requirements and expertise of Scrum Masters and ensure that principles are followed 


  • Provide leadership, direction, coaching, feedback, and discipline to CDO Scrum Masters 


  • Benchmark capabilities, processes, and tools against peer groups both internal and external 


  • Ensures timely resolution of escalated delivery problems to minimize the impact to CDO  


  

Qualifications 


  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent experience is required.  Advanced degree is preferred. 


  • Minimum of 12 years’ experience managing various aspects of agile delivery practice required.  


  • Experience working within the Data & Data Science space is preferred 


  • Clear and demonstratable understanding of Program Management principles, Software Engineering principles, DevOps processes and Agile tools such as Jira  


  • Evidence of creating an Agile practice strategy and follow through with its successful outcomes  


  • Reputation as a thought leader able to advocate a point of view, consider alternatives, and move the group to a decisive conclusion 


  • Experience in owning large PMO/portfolio governance processes including process creation, governance, calendar planning/management, and execution  


  • Experience creating a direct and indirect organization with a culture of global customer focus and the ability to deliver is required.  


  • Must be a strong team player who can work across organizations and teams to produce quality outcomes 


  • The ability to build interdependent partnerships, acting as the mediator between organizations while optimizing the value proposition  


  • Organizational change and Large transformation program management experience  


  • The ability to shape, creating a future vision and gaining support and alignment to that vision  


  • Must have executive presentation skills, a collaborative approach, the ability to connect, and the ability to manage complexity and ambiguity  


  • Must seek to continuously learn & improve knowledge/skills by identifying developmental opportunities
