Self-Advocate Train the Trainer Coordinator

Position Summary:
The Self-Advocate Train the Trainer Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Idaho Living Well Coordinator and project partners to a) recruit people with disabilities to become trainers, b) create and/or organize curriculum materials, c) facilitate train-the trainer sessions, d) develop a strong cadre/ team of trainers, e) supervise training events, f) provide on-going feedback and coaching to trainers and trainer teams, and g) based on training evaluation data—revise curriculum materials and mode of delivery. The self-advocate train-the-trainer model uses a strength-based approach that supports each person's unique talents by adjusting training methods to best meet their learning styles. The Self-Advocate Train the Trainer Coordinator will embed the strength-based approach with both the trainers and audiences. This is a part-time temporary position funded through the Idaho Living Well Project through September 30, 2023 with the potential for longer-term employment.


Minimum Qualifications:
• High School diploma or GED.
• Experience:
- Two years experience working with adults with developmental disabilities;
- Delivering training in person and at a distance through on-line learning platforms;
- Working with adults with disabilities including supporting each adult’s unique learning style;
- As a trainer using of methods including coaching strategies to increase trainer skills and confidence;
- With accommodation and accessibility needs for people with disabilities;
- Managing and organizing learning and training events, timelines, and multiple schedules;
- Computer skills: Using computers and software for email, scheduling, word processing, data organization, and research.


Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.

• Experience:
- Working in a team environment;

• Ability to:
- Maintain high level of confidentiality;
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills;
- Use correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar in composing written statements;
- Manage a variety of projects simultaneously;
- Portray a professional demeanor;

• Knowledge of:
- Cultural competency;
- Creating curriculum in accessible formats;
- Experience using/writing in plain language;
- Disability, trauma-informed care, and other related issues;
- Multiple training methods and principles of adult learning.
