The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Communicating safety principles and regulations to all subordinates, and monitor operations for compliance, to stress safety (of employees, the environment and the physical plant) as a primary objective


• Schedule, evaluate, and direct craftspeople in performance of tasks for maintenance of equipment


• Identify, select, and train complete staff for all shifts within the maintenance department


• Coordinate work schedules with appropriate production units and other Plant Engineering units to expedite work, minimize interruptions in production, and assure effective utilization of work force for repair, installation and/or modification of production equipment.


• Night and weekend work as needed to effectively communicate to all crews

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution


• Four (4) years of manufacturing maintenance experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Associate’s Degree/Technical Diploma or higher in an Industrial Maintenance-related technical field or an engineering discipline


• Supervisory experience (ideally Plant Engineering personnel (production equipment maintenance) or similar disciplines)


• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.
