Your tasks
Purpose: The extrusion/molding regrind technician is responsible for ensuring that all materials available for regrind are sorted and regrind by material types (taking care to avoid regrind contamination). The regrind materials are to be loaded into silos and/or pallet containers by material type (PVC, CPVC, PVDF, etc.) The regrind operator is expected to perform their job in a safe and efficient production environment resulting in product that adheres to the quality standards of Georg Fischer Harvel LLC.
Ensure that all regrind materials are handled correctly to avoid mixing of materials and contamination.
Work with the minimum of oversight. Call for assistance in instances where it takes two or more technicians to assist in large diameter grinding.
Ensure that regrind equipment (grinders and hammer mills, etc.) are maintained with all deficiencies noted to the FSL for maintenance repair when necessary.
Put completed regrind in appropriate assigned areas (correct silo, pallet containers, etc.)
Operates shop equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, etc., in a safe manner while performing duties.
Perform other duties as assigned. Reports any safety problems to FSL immediately.
Knowledge and skills required
Able to discern material types/differences
Understanding of the regrind process
Knowledge of safety health and environmental policies
High school graduate, GED or equivalent.
Ability to operate safely the equipment located and used within the regrind processes.
Perform some machine repairs, all preventative maintenance on machines and facilitate efficient operations of the equipment.
Physical requirements include the ability to lift 50 lbs., standing/walking for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
