Overview

The Coordinator - Logistics Order Desk will achieve savings opportunities for TDS by sourcing equipment across the organization with stock already on hand. The Coordinator is to work closely with internal business units and vendors to plan for required product volumes, monitor inventory stocking levels, ensure availability, and coordinate logistics to meet the required timeframes of TDS departments for their projects. The Coordinator is also to develop extensive knowledge of products and services to counsel internal customers on alternatives. The Coordinator will partner with Field Services, Network Services, and other Supply Chain functions to successfully plan and source equipment across all operations.

Additionally, the Coordinator - Logistics Order Desk is responsible for coordinating repair disposal practices for legacy non-CPE equipment for the organization. This process will require research, analysis, coordination with Operations and Category Management, sourcing, award, and logistics as required to maximize the value TDS receives for its used equipment. Included with the repair and disposal process is vendor qualification, selection, and contract management.

Responsibilities

Source and facilitate the procurement of equipment from internal supply in support of TDS Telecom operations and business needs.

    Monitor Purchase Requisitions to identify equipment to source internally. Process internal orders as required to fulfill purchase requests.
  • Process assigned orders in SAP to fulfill logistics requirements for CPE

  • Serve as primary internal point of contact for the sourcing of legacy fixed asset equipment.

  • Maintain knowledge of supply base and consistent equipment needs for legacy networks.

  • Source the goods/services needed with internal stock first, then help to identify potential vendors and verify availability, cost, lead times, and delivery logistics that are required.

  • Coordinate documentation through Purchase Requisitions, and POs and agreements with internal departments in compliance with policies.

  • Expedite orders and coordinate delivery as necessary.

  • Research, evaluate and resolve any arising issues of incorrect fulfillment or shipping.

  • Assure that all aspects of the purchase to payment process are maintained.

Develop and implement repair and disposal strategies for non-CPE equipment to maximize value to TDS Telecom.


  • Serve as primary internal point of contact for the repair, disposal and sale of assigned goods and services.

  • Maintain knowledge of supply base and pre-qualify supply sources (when applicable) to assure market competitiveness.

  • Lead the coordination and sale of excess network equipment in conjunction with Field Services and Accounting.

  • Assist with sourcing and RFPs for third party purchasing companies to maximize the value of the equipment coming out of the TDS network.

  • Lead the process with field personnel and vendors for Return Merchandise Authorizations for repairs/spares

  • RMA's and advance replacements: (1) process advance replacement/exchange requests, (2) process requests for repair orders, (3) facilitate resolutions for any of the above

Catalog Maintenance - Accurately enter all articles into SAP to develop and maintain the catalog of fixed asset and CPE equipment.


  • Maintain an article master catalog with a focus on absolute accuracy of the data for fixed asset and CPE purchases.

  • Lead discussions related to changes or updates to existing articles and facilitated DGC activities

  • Gather approvals and enter new articles into the system timely and accurately

  • Review groups of articles to streamline and standardize the items we order.

Participate, counsel and support internal departments and operating locations in the selection and procurement of goods & services.


  • Develop and foster relationships with internal departments, and maintain open and regular communication regarding preferred vendors, pricing and purchases of new or existing goods or services.

  • Participate in discussions on development of product and service requirements, forecasts, estimated usage and availability needs, and process requirements.

  • Work with internal customers (departments) on special projects requiring sourcing or procurement.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications


  • Associates degree (or higher) -OR- 2+ years professional work experience.

  • 2+ years of procurement, negotiating, contracting, materials management, network operations, engineering, accounting, or related experience.

Other Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Willing to take courses to achieve the ISM CPSM Certification or equivalent.

  • Network management, engineering, project management, business ownership or customer care experience a plus.

  • Telecommunications or experience in managing technical projects a plus.

  • E-Sourcing experience a plus.

  • SAP Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, organizational skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.

  • Strong analytical, reasoning, creative problem solving, and decision-making ability.

  • Ability to multi-task and continuously reprioritize.

  • Experience in the area of supplier or contractor management is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative and responsive to needs of end users.

  • Must be able to work independently, and as part of teams comprised of various departments and experience levels.

  • Ability to analyze and document product, market and company information.

  • Ability to present analysis, provide sourcing counseling and make recommendations to various individuals and management levels.

  • Ability to establish sourcing initiatives regarding assigned goods & services

  • Attention to detail and sense of urgency.

  • Some limited travel to training, company or vendor locations.
