What we're looking for:

The Office of Business Strategy, a shared resource for the Citrix Executive Leadership Team, informs, articulates, and accelerates Citrix corporate strategy and initiatives in tight collaboration across internal and external stakeholder groups. We develop and embed fact-based models to inform, validate, and articulate corporate and functional strategies and planning processes.

We are looking for a rigorous and structured thinker to join an organization responsible for bringing research-driven insights to our work, which centers around evolving, articulating, and amplifying the Citrix Strategy. You will map what we know and don't know, fill gaps with primary and secondary research, synthesize findings into actionable insights, develop strategies for functional areas based on evidence, and drive programs, position papers, personas, and consultancy for functional area leaders, and enable the business to understand and incorporate findings into functional area and corporate strategies.

TheSeniorManager Strategic Researchrole supports the business decisions and planning of the Office of Business Strategy (and our key stakeholders the Executive Leadership Team and functional area leaders) with rigorous and logical narrative, bringing to bear structured and unstructured data and reports on the corporate fact base andtargetedfunctional strategy projects.This role is focused on the landscape, trends, buyers, and competition in ways that help drive decisions with clear evidence and data-validated analysis.

The senior market research manager owns the strategic research programs supporting knowledge of market and competitive dynamics, adjacencies, technology and market trends and their relevance to our corporate strategy. You will answer key business questions with various approaches including the scope,design, manage, analyze, and communicate the findings of custom and syndicated research including structured and unstructured datasets, qualitative and quantitative work. You will create or support customer, partner, and field research to build a greater understanding and actionable routes to growth.As the role evolves, you will manage vendors, researchers, change management specialists, and strategic framework specialists.

The guiding principle in your work is using data to answer defined business issues and needs across the business and functions, tohelp drive strategic and tactical decisions particularly as it relates to strategic partnerships, finance (mergers and acquisitions, investor relations), product R&D, marketing, sales enablement, corporate learning and development. This is as much a strategist role as a research function. You know research like the back of your hand, though, and act as a fierce advocate for rigor in insights generation, methodological best practices across functions, and using the right tool for the job.


Duties and Responsibilities

*Create research-rich insights for projects including corporate fact base 360-view of buyer, competitive, and technology landscape, market trends, global risks, and other relevant trends

*Manage budgets, work product, vendors, programs, projects, and people as appropriate

*Drive the company's understanding of relevant trends and findings, including readouts and lunch and learns, since your work is inclusive and has broad relevance to everyone in the company whose work gets better when they understand our customers, markets, partners, headwinds and tailwinds

*Work with stakeholders to understand their analytical needs, evaluate current intelligence and insight sources, map the known and unknown, and build research plans and learning programs to address gaps

*Source, evaluate, interpret, and synthesize relevant and meaningful insights using industry analyst, corporate, competitive, and third-party data to evaluate and articulate drivers, obstacles, unmet needs, relationship opportunities, and sentiment to help evaluate business opportunities and guide strategy efforts

*Scope and design research to fill gaps in understanding of our innovation partners and buyers, customers, partners, and end users to guide and support cross-functional understanding and strategies

*Collaborate with Strategy, product, sales, partner, marketing, finance, legal, HR, corp dev, engineering, ops, CX, and transformation teams to create deep evidence-based understanding

*Identify research methodologies to address the business questions(s), and proactively drive the design of research with business partners and vendors to enhance strategic value of insights

*Build relationships across key stakeholder groups internally and with industry and market research vendors

*Demonstrate continuous improvement by soliciting feedback, cultivating a sense of urgency, collaborating with vendors, and evolving the overall research program

*Develop highest quality, executive level research deliverables with best practices in data visualization and narrative

*Dedicate an appropriate amount of time to truly understand the business question(s) in order to properly scope out research

*Establish timely and realistic deadlines with business partners and meet those deadlines; guide stakeholders to the best questions and answers based in robust knowledge of logical fallacies and classic biases

*Ensure objectivity and superior standards of methodology, respondent selection, and reporting to support executive management

Required

*Bachelor's degree or global equivalent in business, economics, or market research, Masters/MBA or equivalent preferred

*8+ years of strategic research and insights experience

*Technology industry knowledge

*Strong analytical, oral and written communication skills including excellent writing, IDI, survey design, focus group, editorial, research methodology, and research synthesis skills

*NPS acumen

*Unparalleled ability to review, analyze, and summarize large quantities of information into key points

*Structured thinker, rigorous analyst, strategic partner, compelling storyteller

*Self-starter with intense curiosity and initiative that compels proactivity to identify and drive key projects to completion

*Passionate about finding and interpreting statistically significant information, and about synthesizing a rigorous and intellectually honest argument that will help advance meaningful decisions and strategies

Preferred

Experience at a management consulting firm or corporate strategy team for a high-growth technology firm (software, Internet and/or media industry).
