Dynacraft is a diversified global manufacturer of PACCAR medium- and heavy-duty truck parts sold under Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF nameplates. For fifty years Dynacraft has provided the company's truck divisions and PACCAR Parts division with high quality components, subassemblies, and specialized services. Dynacraft has production facilities in Louisville, KY and McKinney, TX.

Requisition Summary


Dynacraft is looking for a design engineer to support our current product lines. We need an energetic, creative engineer to help improve our product and service offerings. This position reports to theEngineering Manageris responsible for maintaining business in support of Dynacraft goals and objectives, and will coordinate efforts across several business disciplines. The ability to develop and maintain excellent customer relationships, while demonstrating strong leadership and project management skills are required to be successful. The ideal candidate is experienced in Lean Manufacturing and is proactive in taking action in leading quality and lasting improvements. Fact-based decision making is a requirement for success.

Job Functions / Responsibilities



  • Model designs for both customers and Dynacraft proprietary products on Pro-Engineer

  • Develop and maintain assembly drawings on truck related components

  • Develop bills of material

  • Conduct product qualification testing and prepare test schedules, reports, and product cost estimates

  • Assist in quoting new business for Dynacraft

  • Resolve issues related to quality or manufacturing

  • Weekly review of new tasks for product change implementation

  • Must work with suppliers to find the best performing products while reducing costs

Qualifications



  • Previous experience with Pro-E or equivalent solid modeling systems

  • Excellent teamwork, and oral and written communications skills

  • Ability to be creative and find unique solutions to keep Dynacraft competitive in all product and service offerings while leveraging Dynacraft's competitive advantages/core competencies to drive growth

  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively, while meeting non-negotiable deadlines

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer skills

  • Attention to detail with a "big picture" focus

  • ISO 9001, Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) and SAP experience preferred

  • Strong leadership skills, emphasizing continuous improvement

  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and make use of new engineering processes and techniques to solve complex technical problems

  • In depth product knowledge in Fluid Flow routings, Axles, Fuel Tanks, and Aftertreatment systems desired.

Education / Training



  • Four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering or Logical Engineeringrequired

  • 2-4 years Engineering experience required

  • Six Sigma training strongly desired

  • Project Management training strongly desired
