The Shift Maintenance Engineer reports to the Maintenance Engineering Group Leader and is responsible for addressing and assisting in any maintenance issues, to ensure smooth operation of our 12,000 ton Forging Press production line on 2nd Shift.
Addressing maintenance issues on the production line
Providing technical assistance to line technicians
Developing and implementing preventative maintenance plans
Clever utilization of resources to determine appropriate actions for repair
Provide assistance during major repairs and shutdown rebuilds
Plan for future shut-downs and major repairs
Coordinate and communicate with contractors when onsite
Develop action plans for key down time items on your shift
Provide expert advice without formal supervisory responsibility
Plan work and establish priorities
Maintains 5S standards in the facility as well as specific to maintenance areas
Continuous Improvements of process and equipment
Education/Credentials/Certifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field + At least 2 years of experience in maintenance in a manufacturing setting
or
Associate's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field and+ At least 5 years of experience in maintenance in a manufacturing setting
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledgeable of electronics, mechanics, and fluid power
General understanding of how a machine functions and operates
Working knowledge of programmable controllers and industrial robotics including Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC's and ABB Robotics
Strong knowledge of PLCs, robotics, electrical, and troubleshooting
Advanced mechanical knowledge
Ability to adapt to changing technologies and learn functionality of new equipment and systems
Manual skills to operate tools and equipment when necessary
Excellent oral and written language ability
Basic understanding of trigonometry
Basic algebraic abilities as well as ability to read and interpret measurements
Excellent problem solving and reasoning ability
Ability to follow written procedures and guidelines
Excellent interpersonal abilities
Ability to stay organized and establish priorities
