Job Description:

Primary Function

Speak with people across the country who have expressed an interest in a mortgage, help them select the right products, and close sales.

Principal Duties


  • Provides superior customer service skills by responding to company-provided leads in a timely manner from: internet, direct mail campaigns, radio ads, referrals or other special marketing campaigns

  • Originates first home mortgages and refinance loans

  • Takes mortgage loan applications by phone and prepares effective loan proposals

  • Engages with consumers, determines their needs and offers the appropriate products

  • Meets individual monthly sales goals

  • Obtains all necessary information to close the loan in a timely manner, including but not limited credit reports, income verification, appraisals, lien searches, etc.

  • Stays informed of developing trends in the mortgage industry

  • Provides superior customer service

  • Maintains compliance with company Code of Conduct

  • Other duties as directed

Education and Experience Requirements


  • Some level of purchase or refinance (non-relationship) experience preferred.

  • Excellent phone skills.

  • Superb time management skills.

  • Strong sense of urgency and initiative to get things done.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and follow up are critical.

  • NMLS SAFE ACT/UST Compliant, licensed preferred but not necessary.

  • Ability to adhere to the department's schedule and attendance policy.

  • Must work mandatory overtime during peak/critical times of the year.

  • Must have experience utilizing persuasive, selling communication skills

  • Must maintain mortgage licenses by completing mandatory annual continuing education

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements


  • Demonstrated ability to connect quickly with people in an outgoing, friendly manner

  • Must possess the ability to work efficiently and accurately

  • Must have a solid understanding of appraisals, title reports and product guidelines

  • Proven success in a fast-paced environment

  • Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate careful decision-making skills

  • Needs to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Basic computer skills

  • Must pass a background check for state licensing
