Job Description:

We are seeking a Registered Nurse:


  • Be an integral member of a talented multidisciplinary team working together to deliver quality care to patients of all ages, from neonatal to geriatric, undergoing cardiovascular procedures from diagnostic cardiac catheterization to emergent STEMI (heart attack) patients.

  • Has a strong critical care background and is ready to expand their skill set to include a specialty in cardiovascular procedural nursing.

  • Practices in an environment that focuses on patient- and family- centered care.

  • Is highly engaged in acquiring new skills and integrating evidence-based nursing practices into the unit culture.

  • Participates in shared governance, with a unit-based council to help support and drive quality improvement initiatives and lead practice change.

Education:

Preferred - BSN

Work Experience:

Minimum – Two (2) years of recent nursing experience in a Cardiovascular ICU, Critical Care ICU

or Emergency Department.

OR

One (1) year of recent nursing experience in a Cardiovascular ICU, Critical Care ICU

or Emergency department and at least one (1) year of cardiovascular or med/surg

nursing experience.

OR

One (1) year of recent Cardiovascular Laboratory and/or Electrophysiology Laboratory

nursing experience.

AND

Previous moderate sedation experience.

Preferred - Cardiovascular Laboratory and/or Electrophysiology Laboratory nursing experience.  Previous Nursing experience with an emphasis on cardiovascular patient care.

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum - Registration as a professional nurse in the State of Wisconsin.  BLS and ACLS certification.

Preferred - CCRN, CVN, PCCN, RCIS

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:


  • Knowledge/experience related to hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive medication infusions.

  • Knowledge regarding quality improvement and standards of care within practice area.

  • Experience in teaching patients and families.

  • Self-directed, able to organize, triage various workloads. Capable of demonstrating flexibility with demands of external/internal customers placed on operating functions of the department.

  • Basic computer skills required.

  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills.

  • Capable of wearing lead aprons for extended periods of time.

Physical Requirements:

Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Work Schedule:

This is an Day shift position, with variable (8) eight and (10) ten-hour shifts, between the hours of 0600-1830.  This position requires on call responsibilities as well as late shifts. Hours may vary based on operational needs of department.
