Ascend Learning is hiring a full-time Project Manager to manage the day-to-day operation relating to the production of Ascend Learning simulations within the Simulation Center of Excellence (COE).  This position will work from our New York, New York office location preferred, remote will be considered.


The Simulation Center of Excellence sits within the Innovative Learning Sciences division of Ascend Learning. We develop simulation learning experiences for all business units across Ascend, providing them with interactive and animated graphics, as well as 3D animated virtual human and environment capabilities. Much of our focus has been on role-play simulations where users engage in conversations to practice effective soft skills that result in improved social, emotional, and physical health.


Your primary focus will be managing simulation development projects, communicating project needs, scope changes, budget updates, as well as assisting our team in pitching solutions and finding areas to improve/create internal workflow process. The ideal candidate will be able to tailor communications to whom they are speaking and working with, in addition to being a valued collaborator. You’ll be able to anticipate problems before they arise.


Responsibilities:



  • Ensure company’s standards are upheld and clearly defined in the entire process of each project’s development and execution

  • Prioritize tasks, set deadlines, assign staff to various deliverables, and plan contingencies so that each project can be successfully delivered on time and on budget

  • Monitor and report on overall “health” of assigned projects, including milestone deliveries, budget burn, risk assessment, and capacity

  • Collaborate with team in improving processes, and engage in problem solving

  • Assist in creating documentation for new processes

  • Work with internal stakeholders to define requirements and manage scope

  • Effectively interpret partner feedback

  • Run SCRUM meetings for assigned projects

Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, equivalent experience considered

  • Minimum of 2-4 years relevant experience in project management and/or digital content development experience

  • Proficiency in using JIRA & Confluence

  • Experience with Powerpoint, MS Project or Smartsheets, and Excel

  • Proficiency in creating and communicating project metrics, tracking KPIs, & managing budgets

Skills and Abilities:



  • Strong account management, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to juggle different projects & priorities

  • Excels at project data analysis and can clearly represent the need for or against additional effort based on factual accuracy

  • Strong technical aptitude and general understanding of software and/or content development methodologies.

  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including writing concisely and clearly for different audiences

  • Ability to interface with all levels of an organization, from intern to CEO

  • Anticipate issues, identify trends, adjust, and resolve shortfalls

  • Identify opportunities for business improvements

  • Certified SCRUM Master a plus

  • Proficient in Agile ceremonies
