Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, develop, test, automate, and launch new pipelines, dashboards and reporting solutions across all business functions. Apply strong problem-solving skills and analytical capabilities to enable business leadership to make effective, data-driven decisions.

 

Work with business and IT management to understand data and information requirements, and develop effective solutions.  Determine, document and communicate supporting project plans, work estimates, and task prioritization.

 

Work with other team members to assist in the design, performance tuning and administration of the Business Intelligence platforms  and ongoing analysis needs which includes understanding the data and where to get it, extraction of the data, processing it, presenting it, and providing training and ongoing support. 

 

Ensure reporting assets provide consistent, reliable and automated delivery of data, troubleshooting any production issues.

 

Provide training, support, technical and domain expertise to end users of analytics systems through a variety of channels. Contribute to a catalog of knowledge for coaching and training to support best practices and conformance to defined standards and governance.  

 

Participate in internal user groups to promote and enhance adoption of our BI tools.

 

Develop and utilize expertise in Lynden systems and business processes to maximize the identification of opportunity and facilitation of data-driven decision making.



Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with an emphasis in technology, business, or mathematics, and four years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 


LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Strong communication skills with ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Requirements include:


  • Strong skills in the following areas


    • Research, technical writing and communication

    • Customer service, training and mentoring

    • Problem solving and root cause analysis

    • Data preparation and modeling for analysis



  •  Experience with the following tools and technologies, or similar leading alternative

    • Tableau

    • Alteryx

    • AWS S3, Azure ADLS

    • Microsoft SQL Server DML and DDL



Preferential consideration for:


  • Experience with the following tools and technologies, or similar leading alternative


    • SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)

    • Cloud data architectures and their key components, such as AWS Glue, Lambda, EMR or Azure Data Factory, Databricks

    • Open-source data processing tools, such as Spark, Hadoop, NiFi, Drill, Storm, Flink, etc.

    • Scripting and automation languages, such as Python and PowerShell

    • Machine learning, predictive modeling, natural language processing, or other data science workloads



  • Experience with the following domains, or similar

    • IoT, batch processing and streaming

    • Transportation and logistics industry
