Summary of Responsibilities:

The Director, Reporting and Consolidations is a highly visible, key role for SWM responsible for global consolidations, external audit coordination, SEC reporting support, statutory reporting and financial internal controls, policies and compliance. The position has three reports, including two direct and one indirect, works with all levels of management, coordinates with our external auditors, provides guidance and direction to other corporate teams and the business units on complex accounting matters, leads management of certain financial business systems and drives reporting process improvements and optimizations.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Leading a world-class reporting and consolidations accounting team by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and holding employees accountable; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures, which will support the company's growth.

  • Leading the month-end closing consolidations and reporting process.

  • Leading administration of the Company's corporate financial business systems including OneStream Consolidation, LeaseAccelerator and BlackLine Systems ensuring resources and processes are in place to achieve accurate financial reporting and controls.

  • Collaborating and partnering with cross functional teams, including IT, FP&A and Tax, to streamline and automate consolidation, reporting and budgeting/planning processes with focus on continuous improvement, accuracy and efficiency.

  • Support SWM's SEC reporting, including the Annual Reports, Form 10-K's, Form 10-Q's and Form 8-K's.

  • Ensuring the accounting for financial results is in accordance with US GAAP, corporate policies and all applicable rules, regulations and laws in reporting financial information to stockholders and other interested parties.

  • Performing a key role in the Company's annual budgeting and monthly forecast processes, including partnering with Corporate and Business FP&A and other Business Leadership.

  • Partnering with the Director of Technical Accounting to provide technical accounting support in connection with:

    • The implementation of changes in accounting policies and procedures,

    • Adoption (or proposed adoption) of new accounting standards,

    • Business development activities including due diligence, mergers and acquisitions,

    • Other areas including impairment analysis, restructuring activities, and treasury matters.



  • Providing advice to Company leadership and senior management on effects of accounting and control rules, regulations and issues as they relate to the Company or to specific business decisions.

  • Partnering with corporate tax and treasury for tax, credit and cash-management-related monthly tasks and initiatives.

  • Communicating effectively with all levels within the organization from staff, operations and other capabilities to executive leadership including the CEO, CFO, CAO, the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and other senior leaders.

  • Ensuring financial and control policies and practices are uniform, effective and consistent throughout SWM and its subsidiary companies.

  • Ensure proper corporate-wide internal compliance testing is in place and operating effectively to support senior management's certifications to the outside auditors and SEC.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with a CPA and a minimum of 10+ years' experience in public accounting and industry corporate reporting in an international environment.

Required Skills:


  • Significant consolidation systems experience, including multiple international legal entities; OneStream or HFM preferred

  • Proven ability to lead, manage and build effective teams

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements

  • Strong analytical skills and detail oriented

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities, and deadlines

  • Effective communicator and strong interpersonal skills

  • Strategic agility and problem-solving capability

  • Experience working across multiple levels, functions and regions

  • M&A and purchase accounting experience

  • International business experience, including FX and dealing with multiple currencies

  • Understand the differences among foreign subsidiary statutory accounting and reporting requirements versus those currently required for U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting

  • Manufacturing accounting experience preferred
