Position Summary:

Position Responsibilities:


* Performs Preventative Maintenance activities and Calibrations of equipment.

* Coordinates activities with plant maintenance, systems, utilities, and outside contractors.

* Works with the team to proactively identify and take measures to address concerns with process issues impacting products, product quality, regulatory documentation, and test systems.

* Drive continuous improvement activities with associated validation/ documentation requirements.

* Consult and aid Product engineer on the impact of calibration deviations and unplanned issues on product quality.

* Efficient use of reliable troubleshooting methods to ensure uptime, production volumes and quality goals are met.

* Diagnoses complex malfunctions in machinery and equipment and completes repairs in minimal down-time. Ability to re-prioritize work based on new information. Ability to work with limited background information - drawings, documentation to solve problems. Ability to improve documentation of systems.

* Support safe manufacturing practices; participate in PHA and HAZOP reviews.

* Capital project implementation: Lead design and procurement of new components and processes, mechanical installation, electrical installation, and controls.

* Work Hours: Mainly days 40+. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include 24-hour coverage for process issues between Monday morning and Thursday afternoon. Machine has scheduled shut-down each Friday for maintenance.


Required Skills & Education:


*Master Electrician and/or Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering disciplines are used routinely in this position.

*Knowledgeable in the areas of Programmable logic controllers (PLC), process control logic, pneumatics, steam systems,mechanical drives and components, troubleshooting, and repair techniques.

*Ability to identify root cause of problems and effectively initiate immediate corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.

*Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.

*Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel mastery.

*Minimum of 5+years (ideally 10+) of related experience, leadership experience is a plus.

*Proven ability to work within a team and be accountable to meet department metrics and goals.

*Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

*Ability to adapt easily to change and be capable of effectively dealing with stressful working situations and conditions.

*Willingness to work within a framework of regulatory compliance.Willingness to develop procedure writing competency.

*Strong project planning and organizational skills.

*Strong work ethic, good judgment and decision-making skills.

*Track record of consistently demonstrating a positive attitude which influences safety, quality, environmental, productivity and people development.


Desired Skills:



  • Excel VBA, and other programming.LabView experience is a plus.

  • Experience with Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers (RTO)

  • Knowledge of medical device regulations, solvent electrical safety NFPA 70E requirements, and Environmental Protection Agency Regulations.


Work Environment:


Mainly indoors. Chemical, coating, and manufacturing environment. Electrical. Working conditions are in a manufacturing environment including solvent solution delivery areas, coating machinery, and solvent dryer areas as well as basic office spaces.
