Job Description:

Responsible for leading a team of QA associates

Responsibilities


  • Provide technical leadership, coaching and guidance to team of QA professionals.


  • Maximize the capability and capacity of resources to deliver high quality automated and manual testing on time and within scope.


  • Identify opportunities to practice and champion continuous improvement through projects, productivity assessments and other metric-driven insights.


  • Manage to, and report on operational metrics and status. This is including but not limited to queue churn, trending, resource utilization, risk assessment and mitigation, project initiatives, and department-related data elements.


  • Make timely and effective decisions to ensure the team continues to move forward while balancing current and future objectives.


  • Lead change initiatives and develop strategies to supportchange in QA engineering processes and strategy.


  • Accountable for resources' ability to improve knowledge and skills required for QA and QA Automation teams to advance and leverage the latest in testing tools, industry standards and QA testing methodologies.


  • Responsible for establishing and managing to financial budgets.


Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience


  • At least 5 years of professional technical experience in software testing


  • At least 3 years of large, complex project management experience


  • At least 3 years of experience with full lifecycle development and using Agile methods


  • At least 2 years of leading a team of technical staff



  • Extensive understanding and continued learnings around QA methodology, tools, and approaches.


  • Expertise and continued growth in various forms of software testing as well as automation concepts.


  • Ability to identify and resolve critical issues with ease ensuring repeatability, maintainability, and scalability.


  • Ability to comprehend, perform project planning and execution, and mentor others while delivering on large, complex QA initiatives with minimal assistance and review.


  • Strong understanding of technology, software quality assurance standards and practices with a natural inquisitiveness.


  • Strong written and verbal communication with active listening skills and the ability to interact with a wide variety of technical and non-technical personnel via matrix navigation.


  • Ability to logically identify issues using a level of abstraction and troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills and prediction where necessary in identifying defects, test coverage, and gaps in requirements.


  • Ability to read and interpret business requirements and read, write and identify test specifications, test plans, and test scenarios.


  • Ability to balance individual and team effort in collaborative processes while meeting set deadlines.


  • Strong written and detail-oriented skills to effectively produce quality test cases and related test and release documentation with a high level of coverage.


  • Experience with structured delivery processes


  • Experience with full lifecycle development and using Agile methods


  • Experience in working with web-based, pc-based, and mobile applications built with Java, .NET, Web technologies, Linux utilizing varying databases for data storage and retrieval.


  • Knowledge of where test automation applies, its usage, and maintenance needs.


  • Selenium or test automation scripting tool equivalent.


  • Ability to interpret and apply scripting languages (e.g. JavaScript) used by the test automation tool.


  • Familiarity with Node.js, web object identification (e.g. XPath)
