Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel, the Senior Compliance Analyst will provide direct oversight of ABS Kids' compliance plan and program by ensuring compliance and privacy regulations adherence. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and maintaining an effective compliance program that prevents, detects, and corrects non-compliance issues with applicable laws and regulations. This position will also hold the title of ABS Kids’ Privacy Officer.
This position is remote but we are ideally looking for someone who lives in CA or UT.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions and Duties
Provide direct oversight of the compliance plan and program, including but not limited to the following: billing and coding, privacy, conflicts of interest, anti-kickback and physician self-referral, HIPAA Privacy, Stark law, and fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA)
Maintain ABS Kids’ code of conduct, privacy policy, compliance plan and other compliance related policies and procedures
Handles highly sensitive and confidential information discreetly with interdepartmental personnel, clinical staff, patients and families, and insurance companies
Maintain current knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations that impact ABS Kids and address new and emerging requirements
Review and analyze contracts for legal and compliance regulations, requirements, and statutes
Partner with outside legal counsel and vendors on compliance issues, as needed
Conduct timely investigations of identified compliance issues and consult with leadership
In conjunction with CCO, coordinate ABS Kids’ Compliance Committee and related activities
Manage ABS Kids’ Compliance Hotline

Qualifications
Required Skills
Expert level of understanding in; HIPAA, Privacy Act, FWA, Stark and Anti-kickback laws, and Medicare/Medicaid regulations
Able to read, analyze, and comprehend complicated contract requirements, regulations, and statutes
Excellent knowledge of legal, ethical, and compliance procedures, regulations, and requirements
Able to juggle competing demands and priorities while meeting strict deadlines and maintaining strong attention to detail
Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills
Comfortable leading in an environment of constant change and ambiguity
Demonstrated working experience and expertise in negotiating privacy and data protection agreements, including business associate agreements and data use agreements
Ensures appropriate records are maintained
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business or Healthcare Administration or related field required
Master's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or Compliance preferred
3-5 years' experience reviewing and understanding contracts preferred
4-5 years' experience in healthcare compliance roles required
Actively holds healthcare compliance certification (CHC, CHPC or similar) or is willing to obtain certification within the first two years of employment
