Job Description:

Troubleshoots various advanced ac/dc, low and medium voltage systems, electrical components, PLC logic and instrumentation systems at the component level on all process equipment with minimal guidance. Properly installs, maintains and repairs equipment in a fast paced, high production work environment, while prioritizing multiple mechanical, electrical and administrative tasks on a consistent basis. Essential Duties and Responsibilities• Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.• Loads system-level controller software, performs basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices (i.e. sensors, actuators, etc.) and completes all required commissioning documentation. Capable of troubleshooting, repairing and overhauling equipment within close tolerances.• Troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs production equipment for a safe and productive work environment., Including, but not restricted to: • Mechanical • Pneumatic • Electrical • Hydraulic • PLC• Performs Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) to maintain safety and increase up-time of equipment.• Supports Operations in equipment setup, changeover and training of operators in autonomous maintenance activities.• Documents work orders, corrective and preventative maintenance performed throughout the day using computerized maintenance management system (SAP).• Effectively communicates with operators, peers, supervisors and all levels of management daily.• Provides support where needed and completes other duties as assigned by Team Leader/Manager.• Understands and adheres to all Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures, confined space procedures and all other plant safety/good manufacturing practices requirements related to supporting machinery uptime.• Makes recommendations for spare parts requirements and equipment improvements. • Works on process support equipment improvement projects directed by the Manufacturing Engineering Dept.• Performs all required duties and communicate information within shift overlap procedure.• Adheres to all housekeeping SOP`s in and around work area including 6S standards.• Works in accordance to all TS-16949 and ISO 14001 standards within assigned work area.• Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.• High School Diploma or G.E.D. and be able to read, write, and speak in English.• Detailed prior experience repairing and performing maintenance on manufacturing machinery and in trouble shooting, electronics 12VDC-460 VAC, hydraulics, pneumatics, motor starters, pumps and PLC controls.• Possesses an advanced understanding of ac/dc electrical (up to 480 volt 3 phase) drawings in order to solve problems in a timely manner.• Possess thorough PLC/ Instrumentation troubleshooting skills.• Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.• Extensive experience and knowledge of PLC controllers specific to Siemens and Rockwell/Allen Bradley.• Demonstrated ability to read and understand machine blue prints (2D and 3D), electrical schematics/wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics and pneumatic schematics/valve drawings.• Demonstrates a strong customer focus along with a very strong work ethic and willingness to do what needs to be done without taking shortcuts.• Demonstrated knowledge of basic math, including working with decimals.• Possesses and demonstrates a logical method of problem solving and willingness to learn and improve one's skills.• Demonstrates a strong commitment to meet and exceed customer requirements at all times.• Must be willing and able to work required overtime that can be substantial during peak customer production periods.• Able to perform detailed work with a strong attention to detail and quality.• Able to lift up to 40 pounds, perform repetitious duties and walk or stand for long periods of time on a daily basis.• Highly organized with ability to work independently as well as part of a team.• Exhibits integrity through fair and ethical behaviors in all activities; maintains accountability for performance.• Strong attention to detail with well-developed organizational and communication skills.• Proven experience developing work processes to improve outcomes for the team/customers.It is thyssenkrupp Bilstein of America's policy to recruit, hire, and promote qualified personnel in all job classifications without regard to race, creed, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, national origin, disability or veteran status.
