Job Description:

The Senior Desktop Engineer will perform application packaging, software deployments , deployments, asset life cycle documentation, mobile device management and release control in an enterprise IT environment, as well as secure baseline image creation for multiple hardware configurations. Leverage expertise with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, Group Policy, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, Active Directory, MBAM/Bitlocker, Intune, PowerShell and Office 365. The Senior Engineer will be able to communicate concerns and solutions with varying degrees of technical knowledge as well will work with individual departments and will research new technologies leveraging techniques to ensure operational efficiencies. The Senior Engineer will perform best practice desktop engineering support for an enterprise environment consisting of PC and Mac. Also, perform application packaging, deployments, documentation, and release control in an enterprise IT environment, as well as secure baseline image creation for multiple hardware configurations. Leverage expertise with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, Group Policy, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, Active Directory, MBAM/Bitlocker, Intune, PowerShell and Office 365.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Software packaging and installation using PowerShell and/or MECM
  • Proficient in creating and editing MSI installers. Windows batch and PowerShell scripting.
  • Work to deploy end user management policies using Azure and Intune
  • Works closely with IT managers/supervisors to develop end user desktop experience that will benefit the organization as a whole.
  • Work with field personnel to assess, troubleshoot and resolve problems pertaining to desktop environment. May contact vendors or other personnel as needed.
  • Provides senior level support to the field office technicians and affiliate office personnel on problems and issues related to hardware, software, networks and business applications.
  • Create and maintain troubleshooting guides to be used by down-level support personnel
  • Work to automate desktop operations to ensure a streamlined experience for end users
  • Troubleshoot & resolve service issues related to virtual and physical desktop environments
  • Partner with security, server, client services, network, and application teams to troubleshoot
  • Provide off-hours support for operations and pre-scheduled and emergency maintenance
  • Work with third-party vendors to improve current and future enterprise environments
  • Explore requirements from the internal IT team in order to recommend the most suitable IT desktop solutions
  • Skills, Education and Experience:


    • Bachelor's degree or a related technical field and a minimum of 8 years of experience in enterprise environment design, operations of mobile device tools, desktop workspace, and vulnerability patching is required.
    • Experience in asset management, capacity management, roadmaps, DaaS, and pilots is also required.
    • Strong logical and analytical thinker
    • Detail-oriented
    • Efficient in the root cause of problems and solutions for remediation
    • Risk analysis of systems and provide solutions in a timely manner
    • Exhibit poise and focus under stressful situations
    • Strong communications skills, written and verbal
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Manager Intune, Symantec Altiris, asset lifecycle management, IT communications, problem management
    • The ability to work independently
    • Ability to support services: mobile device tools, desktop workspace, vulnerability patching
    • Experience with Microsoft Azure Arc (Formally SCCM)
    • Experience with OneLogin, Microsoft Azure access management
