Job Description:

Clean Room Assembler

Purpose:Performs assembly operations on a variety of medical products following written and verbal instructions.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Checks own work for proper assembly; may use microscope for checking assembly to ensure specifications are met.


  • Sets up and operates various packaging devices.


  • Follows all clean room gowning requirements


  • Assembles, labels and packages a variety of sterile and non-sterile products or sub-assemblies following established procedures and accurately completes all necessary paperwork.


  • Prints labels as required and completes associated paperwork.


  • Performs preventative maintenance on tools, equipment and machines as required.


  • Sustains and maintains 5S standards and all continuous improvement activities.


  • Assists in training other employees performing similar tasks on the proper techniques and procedures in order to produce defect free parts.


  • Must be willing and able to continually rotate through a variety of manufacturing processes, performing all types of tasks in a cell/team environment.


  • Communicates with the other shifts, if applicable, the status of parts, equipment and any other matters that might have an impact on their job.


  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.



Work Experience Requirements:A minimum of one year work experience preferably in assembly and packaging operations.

Knowledge Requirements:Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Able to learn and become proficient in mechanical assembly, reading instructions/schematics, operating various types of production equipment and use gauges and other measurement tools. Must be willing to work in and follow all clean room environment procedures. Able to work at established production rates and demonstrate good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity. Must be able to work all scheduled overtime. Must be willing and able to continually rotate through a variety of manufacturing processes, performing all types of tasks in a cell/team environment. Demonstrate ability to function in a high performance work team environment. Must be reliably and predictably available to perform the major duties of the position at the assigned work site. Must be able to be ready to perform the job tasks at the assigned starting time.

Travel Expectations: 0-20%
