About the Job

We are seeking a Sewer Collections Grade I/II Operator. Must be in possession of a Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrake and tank endorsements. Knowledge and experience with various sewer pumps and equipment, with mechanical aptitude is desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain gravity sewer lines within contracted district


• Operates and maintains a wide variety of hand and power tools related to the work; operation of a hydro-jet combo truck


• Maintain, monitor, and repair as needed sewer pump stations


• Assist in routine operations of district wastewater treatment facilities


• Abide by all industry safety standards


• Schedule may include "on call" coverage for occasional night and weekend emergency situations


• On call on a rotational basis and may work outside of regular hours, including weekends and holidays. Required to respond within a 45-minute time frame while on call

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED


• Must be in possession of a Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

Preferred Qualifications

• California Water Environment Association (CWEA) Grade I Collections certificate


• Wastewater specific education or coursework desired


• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel


• Industry-related safety training with certificates


• Experience with a water or wastewater utility desired

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds


• Must be comfortable with working in confined spaces


• May be required to wear and/or use personal protective and other safety equipment
