Position Description/Overview:


Press Ganey currently has an exciting opportunity for a Proposal Writer on the Strategic Consulting Operations Team. This individual will be a member of the Proposal Development Team (PDT), and will support the Strategic Consulting division. The Proposal Writer will prepare, research and write standard and customized persuasive proposal verbiage (content) for a range of Press Ganey's Solutions. This individual works in collaboration with other PDT members, senior Strategic Consulting leaders, and the Press Ganey sales team in the preparation of proposals and related tasks that support Strategic Consulting sales and operations.


Members of the PDT work collaboratively with individuals in all areas of the company, and therefore maintain a working knowledge of company products and services, and possess an understanding of internal organizational structure, processes, and functionality.


Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Prepare customized proposals for Press Ganey's Strategic Consulting solutions (professional services). Includes drafting executive summaries, customizing existing written content (general standard templates) and developing new content that describes services and deliverables based on input provided by the Strategic Consulting leader/sales team. Includes researching, editing and proofing final proposals.

  • Work with Strategic Consulting SMEs to develop standard content (templates) that accurately represent the professional services, deliverables and Press Ganey differentiators for a particular solution, and establish processes to ensure this content is updated accordingly.

  • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in proposal writing processes and resources, such as revision management, content management, templates and style guides, and others.

  • Understand and use pricing templates (MS Excel worksheets) to create drafts and proof final budgets to support proposals.

  • Develop and format high-quality documents (MS Word) and presentations (MS PowerPoint) to support proposals.

  • Proactively support the advancement of proposals from request to resolution via effective communication with various internal Press Ganey teams (e.g., follow-up when awaiting feedback from a reviewer; use an understanding of roles/responsibilities of team members to request information from appropriate sources).

  • Use internal systems (e.g., Salesforce) and other reporting systems as required to track up-to-date status information on sales opportunities and proposals.

  • Responsible for working with Press Ganey's company-wide RFP proposal team on the coordination, organization of Strategic Consulting division's content, and submittal of proposals in response to formal client solicitations (e.g., RFPs, RFIs).

  • Understand and apply knowledge based on competitors, corporate mission, product strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats.

  • Maintain working knowledge of company philosophy, approach, products and services.

  • Prepare and keep up to date summary biographical profiles for Strategic Consulting team members.


Qualifications and Education:



  • 5+ years of related experience required, which may include sales and/or consulting. Experience with proposal writing for professional services group and/or knowledge of Press Ganey's products and solutions strongly preferred.

  • Experience managing company- or division-wide proposal processes preferred.

  • Excellent communication, writing and editing skills

  • Strong critical thinking skills

  • Advanced skills in MS Office Products (Word, PPT, Excel) to support document preparation

  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and to quickly adapt to multiple priorities.

  • Work independently on proposals and related tasks.

  • High attention to detail and organized.

  • Proven ability to manage workload including communicating effectively when additional team resources are needed to meet demands

  • Bachelor's Degree required
