Manufacturing Engineer Job Summary:



Highly visible dynamic growth opportunity to use your ME skills to drive process improvement, quality improvements, and increased Customer satisfaction as the ultimate goal. The ME will be responsible for manufacturing processes and be an integral participation in new product/process introductions. She/he will have a keen eye on process improvements that will lead to manufacturing simplification and ultimately margin improvement.Additionally, the Manufacturing Engineer will work with our internal Engineering, Supply Chain, Business unit and our vendors to optimize our products to excel incustomer expectations. This individual will also participate in continuous process improvement efforts in coordination with several other production locations.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:




  • Review internal production yields and recommend material vendor corrective actions or refine their specifications based on data analysis.

  • Develop and implement plant production and quality inspection procedures through collaboration with Production Management, Quality and Manufacturing Engineering departments.

  • Apply statistical methods to determine manufacturing process capability, staffing requirements and quality performance to production standards and customer requirements.

  • Recommend and lead the implementation of production process and inspection procedure enhancements to improve delivered product quality and production throughput.

  • Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, process flow documentation to promote efficient staff and equipment utilization.

  • Layout equipment, materials, and workspaces for maximum efficiency.

  • Support new product development and testing to ensure smooth production introduction.

  • Implement methods and procedures for segregation and disposition of discrepant products.

  • Develop and implement safety measures for factory staff regarding use of equipment, movement of materials and overall workplace practices.

  • Provides training for manufacturing procedures for factory staff.






Required Skills



  • MUST BE A US CITIZEN (DUAL CITIZENSHIP IS NOT ALLOWED, PER GOVERNMENT CONTRACT)

  • Intermediate computer skills & statistical analysis

  • 6-Sigma training & experience, preferably Green Belt or higher

  • Willing to commute or relocate to the Sacramento CA Area (Location in McClellan CA)






Required Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering rolein industrial, or automotive or electronics, or comparable industry.



Travel Requirement, Working Conditions and Physical Demands:


Travel requirement, such as:



  • Occasional overnight travel as required; should not exceed 25% of the time



Working Conditions, such as:



  • General office environment. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.

  • Manufacturing shop environment. Exposure to noise, dust, and hazards associated with manufacturing equipment and tools. Working areas may not be ventilated or air-conditioned.



Physical Demands, such as:



  • The work requires light physical effort with frequent lifting and/or moving of materials in the 10-30 pound range and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires manual dexterity and ability to manipulate small objects. May require normal range of hearing and vision to operate machinery.
