Job Description
Cognosante is seeking to fill a Splunk Administrator/Azure Support Staff position in support of Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Cloud Operations and Migration Services (COMS) contract supporting the VA's Enterprise Cloud (VAEC) Splunk environment. The Splunk Administrator/Azure Support Staff must have expertise with Azure IaaS and PaaS services.
Key Responsibilities
Create Internal and External facing Knowledge Articles for the Service Desk
Ensure tickets are responded to and resolved within Service Level Agreements for each customer
Help maintain the ticketing systems to ensure SLA Goals are met, tickets are updated daily, and to ensure timely resolution
Monitor and Support Alerts
Participate in on call after-hours and weekend support as needed
Provide remote technical support via chat, calls, or through the Incident Management System
Triage and work incoming Service Desk tickets
Required Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
A Senior System Administrator has the thorough knowledge to create plans to assure effective management, operations, and maintenance of systems and/or networks
Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required. (8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education)
Has extensive knowledge of a wide variety of systems and networks to include high volume/high availability systems
Manages teams of system admins and is able to prioritize work and identify high risk critical problems and dedicate appropriate resources
Able to pass a background check to obtain a Public Trust
Must be a U.S. citizen
Candidates that do not meet the required qualifications will not be considered
Preferred Qualifications
A minimum of 2 years of relevant hands-on cloud experience in administering Azure IaaS and PaaS services
Experience managing critical time boxed issues coordinating with multiple involved parties
Experience managing incident management systems in a large corporate environment using tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, Remedy or similar
Experience with IT Service Management systems like ServiceNow or Samanage
Experience with network and/or systems administration in Linux/Unix environments
Experience writing technical documentation, especially in relation to Azure cloud architecture
HDI or ITIL certifications
One or more Azure certifications
One or more of these Splunk certifications: Splunk Core Certified Power User, Splunk Core Certified Advanced Power User, Splunk Enterprise Certified Admin, Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect, Splunk Enterprise Security Certified Admin, Splunk IT Service Intelligence Certified Admin
