Plant Controller

Job Responsibilities

This position serves as a business partner to the Plant Manager, directing the finance function at a manufacturing facility. This position reports to the Plant Manager with a strong dotted line to the Business Unit. Key responsibilities include: direct the operation of Information Systems, Procurement and Accounting to provide adequate manufacturing systems, with additional responsibilities including, but not limited to:


  • Identifying key levers to drive business improvement and providing leadership to ensure implementation of business improvement opportunities
  • Determine, in conjunction with plant management, targeted goals for performance measures of quality, productivity, delivery, cycle time, inventory optimization and profitability
  • Deploying business unit initiatives
  • Forecasting, planning and analyzing business results
  • Complying with Howmet and business unit financial reporting requirements
  • Coordination of the capital appropriation process and post-project reviews
  • Ensuring completion of Howmet Aerospace's Sarbanes-Oxley requirements for internal controls
  • Supervising department employees
  • Perform job duties in a safe and efficient manner
  • Maintain high attendance record
  • Business travel may be required
  • Perform other work related duties as necessary

  • Coach --formally and informally develops others and contributes to talent factory strategy
Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in an accounting or finance role
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing or supervising others in a direct reporting relationship
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) from an accredited institution or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • 5 years experience in a manufacturing accounting role.
