If you are a welding professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our Cudahy, WI location, under direction of the Senior Quality Engineer, you will be a critical team member in Vilter's production process for gas and refrigeration compressor packages. The QC Weld Inspector is responsible for inspecting materials/products to ensure conformance to customer specification and company standards as required by ASME code.
 

AS A QC Welding Inspector, YOU WILL: 

• Inspect and measure incoming raw materials (i.e. piping, tubing, steel plate, etc) to ensure compliance to ASME code. 

• Perform visual weld inspection of in-process and completed assemblies per applicable ASME code. 

• Witness and document pressure testing of pressure vessels and process piping. 

• Perform non-destructive testing. (MT, PT, Ultrasonic)

• Perform x-ray film interpretation. 

• Complete and maintain all company ASME documentation 

• Act as a liaison between manufacturing personnel and authorized inspector.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

QC Weld Inspector Level I 

• Hold or able to obtain ASNT VT Level II certifications for non-destructive testing. 
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, quality manuals, procedures, and ASME code.  
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
• Able to use a company provided laptop or computer and a working knowledge of MS Office programs (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Ability to climb ladders of varying heights.
• High School Diploma, or equivalent 

QC Weld Inspector Level II

• Hold CWI QC1 certification through ASME or equivalent
• Hold or able to obtain ASNT MT & PT Level II certifications for non-destructive testing. 
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, quality manuals, procedures, and ASME code.  
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
• Able to use a company provided laptop or computer and a working knowledge of MS Office programs (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Ability to climb ladders of varying heights
• High School Diploma, or equivalent
• Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  

• Experience with ASME B31.3 process piping and B31.5 refrigeration piping code

• Experience with ASME Boiler Plate Vessel Code Section VIII
