As a Cloud Architect, you will be a key contributor on design decisions related to projects, contribute to standards and participate as part of a cloud architecture group to collaboratively drive cloud adoption within Silicon Valley Bank
In instances where the solution does not exist, you will be relied upon to invent a unique solution. They design, develop, and analyze overall architecture to determine that hardware, software and data architecture solutions meet performance, scalability, reliability, and security needs.
About the role:
Ability to create system and process flow diagrams, data flow diagrams, Cloud Solution Architecture and network diagrams inter and intra system dependencies within the functional domain and across them
Demonstrable experience in migrating applications to AWS encompassing design, development and operational aspects
Experience in assisting application teams to design, develop and operationalize solution architectures that leverage cloud services
Willingness to instruct and coach in a cloud training program as needed
Demonstrated strong analytic and problem-solving abilities
Demonstrable experience leading software developers, systems or process analysts
Synchronize regularly with Enterprise Architecture to ensure compliance to standards and contribute to updating standards as needed
Translate business requirements and use cases into infrastructure capabilities verified to meet the overall business objectives
Design solution-independent architecture models that map business services to cloud application stacks.
Participate in optimizing solution architecture to simplify architecture, manage costs and improve development practices and operational efficiencies
Knowledge of the primary AWS services (ECS, EC2, ELB, RDS, Route53 & S3, Landing zone, CloudWatch, Lambda etc.)
Strong track record of implementing AWS services in a variety of distributed computing environments
Leading highly available and fault-tolerant enterprise and web-scale software deployments
Large scale migration experience Data Center to Data Center and/or Data Center to Cloud
Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering related field or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 5 years IT architecture experience
Minimum 8 years of software development/coding experience
Minimum of 3 years of Cloud Architecture experience
Experience coding in higher level programming language, Python, Ruby, JSON, etc.
Experience in DevOps practices, automating operational tasks is a plus
A keen interest in new technologies and open source
Willingness to research and self-study to keep technical skills relevant in a highly complex environment
