Firmwide Data Management ('FDM') serves as the governing body to create firmwide standards that drive consistent data management practices, develop technologies and processes to support data management priorities, and partner with Lines Of Business ('LOBs') to embed data management best practices and capabilities. Within FDM, the Data Use team was established in response to the emerging risk of data use, and focuses on initiatives that enhance and protect the value of JPMC's data in the rapidly evolving \"Big Data\" economy.

Role Description

This position will report to the Data Use Strategy lead within Firmwide Data Management and will support the process to ensure appropriate capture and governance of uses of data internally and for data leaving the firm to 3rd parties inclusive of suppliers, clients and partners. This role involves substantial cross business interaction and a strong risk and control mind set.

The immediate focus for this candidate will be to support implementation of new strategic initiatives aligned to our maturing capability and in response to new Policy and Standard requirements.

Responsibilities:


  • Process development and management in partnership with LOB data use team and Third-Party Oversight for engagements where data is leaving the firm
  • Ensure engagement with cyber and tech controls to establish appropriate guardrails for data once it leaves the firm
  • Work with partners across the organization to ensure delivery as defined in the Data Use strategy for classifying use of data. Assist in the development of the taxonomy ensuring it is fit for purpose; aid in driving adoption and implementation within LOB system and data architectures.
  • Ensure delivery as defined in the Data Use strategy for classifying data obligations contained within contracts covering clients, partners and third-party vendors
  • Support the PMO function to ensure program deliverables are effectively managed and tracked;
  • Execute BAU duties such as:

    • Content creation for regular management program updates
    • Provide awareness training and act as a central point of enquiry
    • Interface with partners & stakeholders to provide relationship management
    • Ensure accurate and timely Management Information ('MI')

  • The role will require working on multiple projects & strategic initiatives simultaneously.

Qualifications


  • 3 - 5 years of experience in or related to financial services and financial technology with demonstrated appreciation and aptitude for supporting complex projects within a business to business environment with sophisticated stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and practical understanding of a broad set of products and processes.
  • Must be controls-minded; experience with a Business or Tech Controls function a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and work effectively with senior management and other stakeholders to support the goals of the business.
  • Effective influencing and persuasion skills with groups not directly working for you; ability to build consensus.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and communication skills.
  • High tolerance for ambiguity matched with desire to create structure and drive results.
  • Demonstrated interest in emerging technology and "Big Data" in the financial services industry.
