The Ohio Attorney General’s Office has played a vital role in shaping Ohio’s past and present and the work it does today helps chart the state’s future. The office consists of nearly 30 distinct sections that advocate for consumers and victims of crime, assist the criminal justice community, provide legal counsel for state offices and agencies, and enforce certain state laws. In these and other capacities, staff members interact with tens of thousands of Ohioans each year.
We are currently seeking an experienced, licensed attorney with a passion for public service, demonstrated commitment to protecting Ohio's families, and an ability to work effectively with diverse groups. The successful candidates will possess strong oral, written and verbal communication skills, be able to articulate complex legal matters, and exhibit creativity and innovation in their role as an assistant attorney general.
The Ohio Attorney General's Office is seeking an Assistant Attorney General for an opening in the following section in our Columbus, OH Office.
Workers Compensation: The Workers’ Compensation Section is seeking an experienced attorney (preferably 4 years or more) to represent the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation and the Industrial Commission in court litigation. Typical duties for this position include case investigation and evaluation, trial and appellate court appearances and administrative hearings, motion practice, negotiations, and discovery (written and depositions). Appellate practice in the district courts of appeal and/or the Ohio Supreme Court is a plus.
