Research & Development Scientist - Cell Therapy


Gaithersburg, MD


Your Tasks:


As a member of the Lentigen Research and Development Team, you will have the exciting opportunity to play a key, hands-on role within the functional area of T cell immunotherapy. More specifically, as a member of our dynamic and collaborative multi-disciplinary team, you will participate in the discovery and development of novel immune cell products for clinical applications. Furthermore, the unique duties of this position will allow you to apply state of the art research and development techniques in immunology, cell and molecular biology, and lentiviral technology, and to make valuable contributions to the advancement of human health.


Requirements:



  • PhD or M.S. degree in immunology, cell biology, molecular biology, or virology and two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Proficient in immunology and cell biology techniques, including isolation and culture of primary human immune cells, multicolor flow cytometry, and cell-based assays.

  • Proficient in standard molecular biology techniques including cloning, sequencing, quantitative PCR, and production, and analysis of gene vectors.

  • Hands-on experience with gene editing techniques or automation is a plus.

Work Environment:

This job is performed in a temperature-controlled facility without exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures. Generally, this job is performed in a sanitized laboratory setting and routinely uses standard medical and research equipment such as centrifuges, biosafety cabinets, microscopes, incubators, pipettes, and computers. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to blood, viruses, bacteria, body fluids and other tissues. Employees entering and leaving the laboratory must wear appropriate clothing and protective equipment such as scrubs, coveralls, masks, glasses, and gloves. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Qualifications


EducationMasters of Molecular Biology (required)
Experience2 years: Related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficient in standard molecular biology techniques including cloning, sequencing, quantitative PCR, and production and analysis of gene vectors. Familiarity with automation or next-generation sequencing technologies is a plus. (required)
