Supervises the activity between Dynacraft Operations, Materials, and Business Development and Corporate Purchasing. Manage the performance, contracts, and new business initiatives of the MSS suppliers
Job Functions / Responsibilities
Possess the knowledge and ability to:
Identify potential opportunities to streamline material procurement and transportation, improve material handling within the facility and improve materials presentation to the production line. Responsible for overseeing and conducting material flow analysis and space utilization studies to justify proposals and to reduce indirect labor and improve plant inventory turns. Manage the execution of projects for approved initiatives.
Coordinate optimized sourcing initiatives. Supervise the work with production and materials to identify and prioritize projects. Enlist support and recommendations from quality, supplier quality, and purchasing as necessary. Maintain historical and active records for all projects.
Develop cost justifications for optimized sourcing initiatives. Coordinate with plant accounting group to ensure concurrence with internal cost assessment. Work with and assist production, materials, manufacturing engineering and other groups as necessary to obtain required data for justification.
Develop and submit Requests for Quotes (RFQ's) to suppliers for candidate optimized sourcing projects. Coordinate candidate selection with purchasing and supplier quality.
Maintain contacts and communicate status of active projects with the affected departments and suppliers. Communicate and interact effectively with external and internal customers maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer diplomacy.
Must be able to set priorities and eliminate road blocks. Effectively guide others to appropriate solutions.
Support the development of materials logistics processes and goals.
Lead cross-functional teams to drive improvements in quality, efficiency and cost reduction
Communicate production plans and schedule changes to the MSS suppliers
Drive efforts to eliminate issues negatively effecting Dynacraft
Coordinate lean practices at the supplier locations
Lead efforts to improve MSS performance and request corrective actions when required
Manages ECN's and bill of material updates at MSS site
Provide KPIs performance score card weekly and perform root cause analysis on out of spec KPIs
Support implementation and compliance to control plans to ensure that improvements are permanent
Develop methods of ongoing audit of processes and products

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration or a related discipline required; Master's Degree preferred
Three years minimum experience supervising teams or projects in a production environment. Demonstrated understanding continuous improvement principles.Proven ability to work in a self-directed environment.
