POSITION PURPOSE:


  • Provide exceptional leadership and functional direction for the management of production planning, materials management and product launch/improvement rollouts for the Global Nonwovens three site manufacturing network.


  • Provide leadership for the implementation and maintenance of ERP business systems utilized throughout the sector. Provide leadership for recipe and SKU management teams which support the sector MRP systems.


  • Provide leadership for Logistics (warehouse and distribution) function at three mills within the Global Nonwovens in support of our global customer base.


  • Provide exceptional leadership in developing talent, nurturing talent and building capabilities.


KEY CUSTOMERS:


  • Sector Business teams: NA Personal Care, KC Professional, Partnership Products.


  • Regional Operations Directors: Personal Care, Global Nonwovens.


  • Logistics Directors: Personal Care, Health Care, KC Professional Sourcing and Supply Management.


  • Dir. Mfg Optimization, GNW Mills, launch Program Leaders, Strategy and Cost Transformation Leader & Global Nonwovens Research & Engineering.


  • Global Procurement Organization supply chain partners for both raw materials and purchased fabrics.


EXPECTATIONS:

The incumbent reports to the Sector Supply Chain leader and is responsible for multiple functional accountabilities, such as:


  • Ensuring the availability of materials and roll goods to all NA and Regional customers while optimizing inventory investment, customer service, asset utilization, production efficiency and end to end supply chain cost.


  • Support the Mfg. Directors (Mill Managers and Mfg Optimization Dir.) in delivering TDCS targets.


  • Support the Strategy & Cost Transformation leader in the development and execution of long-term strategic capacity and demand balances solutions.


  • Develop near-term, detailed asset loading plans for the GNW global assets base in North America.


  • Semi-annual systems health assessments and execution plans to close gaps both tactically and strategically.


  • Provide leadership support to the Sector Logistics leader as they manage safety (beyond zero incidents), processes, systems, and strategic initiatives in support of attaining and sustaining world customer service and logistics performance (OTIF).


SCOPE:

The position leads a team of managers and individual contributors as they deliver centralized asset planning, staff planning analytics and logistics operational excellence. The position provides functional and career development for all teams


  • Develop and maintain global supply and demand planning systems and tools which lead to effective product loading plans for internal global production assets and strategic global suppliers to ensure demand for GNW materials in tactical, mid-term and strategic time frames is fulfilled.


  • Champion the Sales and Operations Planning process for GNW ensuring key decisions are made to support attainment of Kimberly-Clark business plans and commitments.


  • Develop and maintain standard work for the GNW centralized planning function to ensure effective operation and sustainability of best practices.


  • Provide leadership and career development direction for all Sector Planning and Logistics team members.

  • Coordinate the production planning and inventory management activities for Nonwovens Operations such that global customer product needs and service requirements are met.


  • Once developed, manages the long-term (5-year) strategic capacity planning process which incorporates all global customers' business plans, demand forecasts and the Sector global capacity projections which impact fulfillment of global volume requirements, asset utilization, capital planning, customer product plan execution and material development alternatives.


  • Manage and continually improve the GNW S&OP processes and support the strategic sourcing principles to ensure business issues, opportunities and vulnerabilities are effectively articulated and resolved in a timely manner.


  • Establish and maintain partnerships with customers and key stakeholders (both domestic and in all global regions) that will ensure effective communications and meet all customer expectations.


  • Lead Sector Planning Systems Health assessments to ensure systems gaps are identified and that gap closure plans are developed, coordinated and executed across all GNW sites.


  • Manage SKU and recipe master data initiation and set up activities to provide timely set up for new products in a manner which ensures data accuracy.


  • Lead and/or support systems implementations for global  GNW expansions as required.


  • Provide leadership to ensure the organization attracts, develops and retains the best people and fosters an environment which motivates a diverse team to fully use its capabilities in achieving desired business results.


  • Communicate fully with peers, superiors, subordinates and others who have a need to know. Communicate in a way that is timely, prompt, complete, concise, candid, accurate, clear and responsive.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:


  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field and 10- 15 years or more of broad experience within Logistics and Operations to include leading a team of direct reports.


  • Demonstrated leadership and strategic planning skills, as well as the ability to coordinate the efforts of individuals and teams.


  • Strong influencing and motivational skills.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated utilization of LEAN/Six Sigma tools, especially Value Stream.


  • Strong communication skills in technical and business settings.


  • Technical knowledge of nonwovens material properties and a demonstrated ability to translate that technical knowledge into execution of process or product improvement initiatives. Operations/manufacturing experience.


  • High-speed material converting knowledge and experience.
