JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for the receiving, movement, humane handling, and care of animals in a 7,000 holding lairage for a 900,000 square foot pork processing facility harvesting over 20,000 animals per day.Full-time positions are a minimum 40-hour work week and three shifts are available. Humane handling certification required, and on-the-job training provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Available to work scheduled hours, which may include mandatory overtime depending on department and production needs


• Must be certified, understand, and adhere to all Company and USDA regulations regarding the humane handling of animals in a harvest facility


• Additional essential functions may be applicable to specific jobs


• Adhere to all Company policies relating to food safety, workplace safety and personal safety

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be 18 years of age or older


• Must be Spanish or English speaking


• Must be able to lift, push, and pull at least up to 50 pounds


• Must wear all assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) for the position while working


• Must be able to work in either a hot, wet and/or cold environment


• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and use some or all body parts and muscle groups in physically demanding work


• Good hand-eye coordination and upper extremity motor skills
