The Role

TheSafeEndpoint Engineering team is responsible for Carbonite's core products that are deployed to over 1.5 million endpoints worldwide. We are responsible for backing up petabytes of data to the cloud. We like tackling big problems that have big impact. We are looking for a driven developer that wants to learn and tackle complex issues.

As a Software Developer on the Endpoint team, you will be part of the team that is driving Carbonite's success. The code you write will be used by over a million endpoints. You will have the opportunity to help us choose key technologies and drive critical design decisions for our Safe application stack. You will work with an outstanding group of peers on an agile team that is continuously looking to improve.

Specific Objectives and Responsibilities

• Developanunderstanding ofthe architecture of theSafe product suite


• Build and debug Carbonite'sSafe endpointproducts (Windows/Mac)

• Take an issue all the way through our process of development, testing and release


• Work withquality assurance resources tobecome proficient with automatedtesting


• Participate and contributeona collaborative agile team

Six to Twelve Months and Beyond:

• Analyze and address complexissues/projectsin Safe products


• Work withproduct managementto understandrequirements and proposeappropriate designs


• Collaborate with team members on designs and technical issues


• Develop and deploy updates to Safe products


• Champion and demo enhancements toteam


• Develop solid knowledge ofcontinuousintegration environment

• Propose enhancements to internal processes and application stack

Key Challenges to Overcome

An Engineer on the Carbonite Safe team must internalize the values of developing robust, testable, automated, and scalable software. The key driver for this team is tosecurelyprotect our customer's data and the development team must embody this with every release.

Skills & Experience:

• A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent


• 5+years of professional experience using C++


• Experienceindevelopingmulti-threaded distributed applications using C++


• ExperiencewithJavaScript,Pythonorsimilarscripting language

• Experience working withrelational databases


• Experience withagiledevelopmentprocesses


• Experience with Jenkins and CI pipelines is a plus


• Experience writing test automation is a plus


• Experience developing on Windows and or Mac is a plus


• Experience with C# and or Azure isa plus
