The Manager, Global Procurement & Strategic Sourcing, will be responsible for assisting the Senior Manager with coordinating and providing sourcing strategy development, supplier selections, contract and budget negotiations for the Clinical Operations and Clinical Development departments. This will include several functions both directly under these departments as well as some outside. The role also requires close collaboration with Quality Assurance, Legal and other Finance colleagues. This role will support strategic sourcing goals, risk mitigation, resource accountabilities, issue escalation and resolution, partnership governance, along with behaviors that ensure the success of all clinical programs and supporting services.
The successful candidate will understand clinical operations sourcing in support of all phases of clinical trials with additional knowledge or expertise in Phase IV studies a plus. Additionally, this individual will possess strong collaboration skills to partner with their colleagues and stakeholders. The drive to help build a world-class strategic sourcing organization and a proven track record of high-quality supplier performance management experience are musts for this individual.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Partnering with stakeholders to build robust scopes of work
Developing sourcing strategies for individual initiatives
Implementing RFx activities utilizing advanced tools and techniques
Preparing and implementing advanced negotiation strategies
Partnering with stakeholders and Legal to negotiate and finalize agreements
Ability to assist the Senior Manager to consolidate market, supplier and internal business data and information to develop and implement a cohesive, business-aligned 3-year category strategy at both the category and sub-category level
Assist the Senior Manager in partnering with the expertise areas in Clinical Development to develop a robust performance and relationship management program by facilitating supplier segmentation, setting value creation target with the key suppliers and developing a category-wide set of key performance indicators
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a large or medium-sized professional procurement organization with a preference for category management experience in biopharmaceutical categories including Clinical Outsourcing, CROs and similar areas
Skills in the following key competencies/skills: communications, project management, relationship management, influencing, negotiation, financial acumen, analytical, presentation, aptitude for technology, results-focus, professionalism, and success in a matrixed environment
A proven track record of increasing savings delivery to world-class levels in multiple environments and a deep desire to be a key part of building a world-class Procurement function
Ability to work in a highly metric-driven environment, delivering against challenging performance targets, and continually selling the value of the Procurement function
Ability and desire to be a team member who self-delivers initiatives and programs as required
Ability to influence members of different business groups and deliver world-class results in a collaborative manner without direct authority, working with stakeholders at all levels, globally and cross-functionally
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications; Word, Excel, Outlook and functional systems
