RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Duties: Vice President with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Dallas, TX. Build java services and application components for high performance, high data volume applications. Learn and integrate new technologies, such as Spring, Apache Spark, Kafka, and HDFS, in order to build complex distributed applications. Develop REST based endpoints for providing interactions to backend resources and business logic. Work with java-based frameworks used in interacting with backend databases, and code SQL queries for analysis and debugging purposes. Participate in design, build out, and maintenance of a distributed, multi-region, scalable, resilient platform. Implement and manage Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) via Jira and Confluence, ensuring delivery of infrastructure projects to agreed parameters of time, budget, scope and quality. Collaborate with clients and development community at large to analyze and resolve escalations. Collect requirements, and assess technical feasibility of their requests of clients and adjacent technology platforms. Partner with other engineering teams to understand technology offerings and how they can be applied and leveraged.

Job Requirements: Master's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) or Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field. Minimum three (3) years of experience with a Master's degree or five (5) years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include three (3) years of experience with a Master's degree or five (5) years of experience with Bachelor's degree with: Programming using Java; Using Unix shell scripting, Linux, Networking protocols, and security and file systems; and Working across all stages in the development lifecycle including inception, analysis, design, review, testing, and deployment. Prior experience must include three (3) years of experience with: Eliciting business requirements and translating technical information into nontechnical terms to stakeholders. Prior experience must include two (2) years of experience with: Using distributed systems including experience with at least three of the following: Spring, Spark, REST, Kafka, or HDFS; Using build and CI/CD tools including Kubernetes, Docker, Chef, or Jenkins; Using RDBMS and writing complex SQL queries; and Technically leading teams and owning business requirements on development projects.
