We are currently hiring aManager, Contract ManufacturinginBoston, MA or Breinigsville, PA or Remote.

The Contract Manufacturing Manager will support Boston Beer growth objectives by managing 3rd party supply needs, including providing quotations, qualifying suppliers, supporting, and executing product launches with external manufacturers. They will also provide tactical leadership in the field of all external manufacturing areas and ensures the organization is delivering overall supply chain quality, service, and cost performance.

What You'll Do:


  • Establish and maintain contract manufacturing relationships for assigned contract manufactures by acting as the primary point of contact for suppliers assigned

  • Manage contract manufacturing projects through execution to ensure production and all parameters are achieved during the qualification, verification, and commercialization steps. Ensure adequate technical representation (Food Safety, R & D and Procurement) is present during project phases

  • Lead communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders including documenting open issues and team decisions

  • Lead weekly calls with assigned contract manufactures reviewing production, quality issues, ect.

  • Hold cross-functional and supplier stakeholders accountable for meeting deadlines

  • Regularly meet with contract manufacturers to discuss ways to manage capacity to support the business

  • Anticipate and mitigate potential issues at contract manufactures

  • Assist in gathering KPI information while holding internal and external partners accountable for achieving established targets

  • Review and understand total cost for all supply decisions

  • Help identify process improvements that will enable BBC to meet production targets

  • Identify potential issues and find solutions for other external vendor-based constraints--from raw material procurement to packaging development

  • Assist Sr. Manager 3PM in managing quarterly scorecard review with contract manufacturing partners

  • Support customer opportunities and product launches by securing quotations, products and services required from external manufacturers

  • Partner with quality on corrective action and ongoing audits

  • Select optimal 3rd party manufacturers for business/product launch opportunities taking into consideration capabilities, capacity, speed, risk management, strategic business opportunities and retail business priorities

  • Work closely with business development team, commercialization managers and quality team to ensure seamless and timely product launches from quotation to launch implementation

  • Responsible for dentification of new contract manufactures, lead the RFI/RFP process within their assigned category

What We're Looking For:


  • Bachelor's degree required; preferably in the area of Supply Chain, Operations Research or similar fields

  • Minimum of combined 5 years of experience in operations, logistics, or sourcing and management of external food and/ or beverage production manufacturing relationships

  • Related industry certification a plus (ex: APICS, IBF)

  • Software Skills: SAP and Proficiency with MS Office required
