Summary:


The Workers Comp Admin contributes to Risk Management's commitment to deliver an optimal cost of risk by managing complex workers' compensation claims processes.


Your Opportunity



  • Manages a portfolio of over 200 open, litigated, multi-jurisdictional workers compensation claims, with an overall total incurred in excess of $5 mil

  • Advocates for injured employees and ensures understanding of the complex workers' compensation process in an effort to reduce litigation

  • Employbridge encourages and supports modified duty to assist injured workers in getting back to work in a capacity they're able to perform. This position:

    • Complies with company's Modified Duty program and ensures suitable, alternative work is located to minimize the impact of lost time on client's OSHA log

    • Actively tracks and updates Modified Duty and Lost Time duration for the client to have accurate OSHA information as required by law



  • Proactively identifies claim strategies based on the injury type, body part, jurisdiction, age of claimant, etc., to mitigate cost of claims following EmployBridge claim handling standards and best practices:

  • Review and authorize individual claim reserve changes of up to $100,000

    • Review and authorize individual claim settlements of up to $75,000



  • Builds and maintains relationships with injured employees, branch operations and external vendors to ensure effective claims management

  • Provides direction to branch operations based on jurisdictional requirements, such as employer's control of medical treatment, the waiting period for benefits, modified duty placements, etc.

  • Ensures that individual claim reserves are adequately and timely established, which leads to stable and accurate actuarial studies.

  • Proactively affects claim closures resulting in reduced financial exposure

  • Maintains notes and diaries in the internal RMIS system based on medical and litigation information to hold the TPA accountable in the best interest of Employbridge

  • Attends scheduled claim reviews with TPA to maintain rapport with adjusters, nurse case managers and attorneys; discuss reserves, ensure plans of actions are in place, claim closures are facilitated, etc.


Your attributes:



  • High school diploma; College degree preferred

  • 6-10 years of W/C claims handling experience

  • Professional certification or designation preferred

  • Bilingual (Spanish-English) preferred

  • Solid knowledge of W/C claims handling, understanding of W/C Labor code laws and regulations

  • Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and the ability and desire to learn new computer systems
