Based in our Sidney, OH location, you will be a critical part of commercializing the first packaged liquid desiccant product within the commercial HVAC space. You will be the technical point of contact connecting Emerson with OEMs, Contractors, Specifying Engineers, & End Users to accelerate liquid desiccant system adoption. This customer-facing opportunity is responsible for supporting integration projects, troubleshooting, and ensuring proper operation of Air Management products through technical expertise. You will drive new product acceptance by effictively communicating the value story through system modeling and payback calculations. In this unique role, you will have the opportunity to translate customer needs into modeled concepts & solutions to inform future product roadmaps. Application Engineers provide the confidence that the product or solution customers purchase will be supported and will deliver the performance needed in their system and in the end user application. APPLICATION ENGINEER, YOU WILL:
Pre-Sale technical support: understand customer's system, select products, provide product technical data, provide design support, support setup/operation of prototypes, perform application reviews, provide technical product overviews and training
Post-Sale technical support: perform production line processing reviews, troubleshoot application issues with Emerson products, review customer test data against application review, provide technical data as needed
Customer Issues/Quality: facilitate regular quality reviews at customer, support teardown and analysis of products for root cause determination, write teardown reports
New Product Development (NPD): provide Application/System Engineering input to Product Management for product roadmaps, complete AE NPD Gate tasks, represent the voice of the customer, determine field test requirements, support field test and review field test data
Customer Support: Write Application Engineering Bulletins for Emerson products, create/review product training modules for internal and external use, conduct product training to internal and external audiences, support marketing and industry partners as needed.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
3 years of technical sales or engineering / specification experience with HVAC products or equivalent experience
Professional level oral and written communication skills in English
Possess a strong working knowledge of the following HVAC products and the understanding of how they are integrated into commercial building architechture and HVAC Systems: DOAS, AHU, MAU.
Basic knowledge of psychometrics and HVAC dehumidification strategies
Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
5 years of technical sales or engineering / specification experience with HVAC products or equivalent experience
Masters in Engineering degree
Experience with heat and mass exchangers & membrane-based heat and mass exchangers
