Working with Emerson data scientists and engineers around the world, be a catalyst for change by developing cutting-edge engineering tools, control strategies, system optimization and diagnostic algorithms for internal and external customers. 
 AS A DATA SCIENTIST, YOU WILL: 


  • Implements solutions to complex problems using Machine Learning and Optimization Algorithms
  • Help to create customer-focused analytics with data scientist peers
  • Discover opportunities to improve systems, processes and enterprises through data analytics and automation.
  • Generates reports for decision-making using data visualization tools.
  • Establishes and maintains collaboration with other internal teams to apply cloud and edge-computing capabilities for the
  • application of production and proprietary algorithms
  • Develops key understanding of the cold chain (develop domain knowledge)

  • Reads and understands algorithms and other techniques from academic papers

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor’s in Applied Statistics, Analytics, Data Science or other relevant field or 3 years of relevant experience in a technology field
  • Applicant must have experience coding Python, MATLAB, R, or similar language
  • Must be able to process, clean, and verify the integrity of raw data.
  • Must have strong applied statistic skills such as understanding of probability distributions, statistical inference, and
  • experimental design
  • Must be able to work through the development of algorithms for complex systems for the purposes of understanding,
  • prediction and optimization
  • Must have knowledge in mathematical optimization (Simulated Annealing, Genetic Algorithms) and Machine Learning
  • (Tree-based algorithms, Neural Networks, feature Selection Algorithms)
  • Preferred
  • Experience with modeling techniques for complex systems and machine learning
  • Ability to travel up to 15% for the role. 
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship for the role will not be provided.      
     

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  

  • Experience with modelling techniques for complex systems and machine learning
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure Cloud, Snowflake, and/or AWS

  • Familiarity with database query language such as SQL
