Primary Function


Responsible for overall materials strategy development and implementation to meet manufacturing objectives. Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in Production and Supply Planning, Inventory Control, Receiving and storage of raw materials. Works cross-functionally with other Departments for Manufacturing Execution in support of existing and new products.


Responsibilities



  • Oversee SI&OP for supply planning based upon strategy goals to support customer requirements, inventory planning, company objectives for firm and forecasted demand.

  • Mentorand supportdirect reports for Production Planning, Inventory Control and Supply planning. Providing clear expectations and measureable goals for growth and development.

  • Lead SAP enhancements for Materials team that can have significant impact on performance in support of the end user and overall business process.

  • Respond to Customer Service and Sales Department requests in a timely manner. Be an advocate for the customer.

  • Ensures the preparation and communication of weekly and daily production schedules for all assembly plant, tank plant and support departments. Monitor conformance to schedules and component material delivery to assure that we are able to meet customer's expectations in a lean manufacturing environment.

  • Coordinatewith Production and Supply planning on the timely maintenance of Production Orders, Purchase Orders and changes in support of business needs for customer support. Ensuring that system parameters are followed.

  • Maintains optimum inventory levels of Finished Goods, WIP and Raw materials to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements. Minimize surplus or obsolete inventories.

  • Provide direction and oversight to assure inventory accuracy objectives are achieved through cycle count procedures, root cause analysis and timely corrective actions. Assure that we continue to avoid shutting down for an annual physical inventory. Follow Global requirements for reporting and monthly coverage for Audit.

  • Build on-going relationships with key suppliers as partners. Direct and support the implementation of a comprehensive supplier strategy to assure that we achieve quality, delivery, and cost objectives.

  • Support supply base continuous improvement in quality, on-time delivery, lead-time reduction and total cost productivity. Hold suppliers accountable for performance targets.

  • Responsible for the cleanliness and efficient organization of storage areas.

  • Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability for Supply Review. Recommend, as appropriate, long-term commitments to take advantage of market conditions.

  • Responsible for the health and well being of Materials Department employees recognizing that people are Lochinvar's most important resource. Work directly with the Human Resource Manager to determine, address, and evaluate safety concerns and issues.

  • Lead by example to drive a quality mind-set throughout the organization. Assure that business processes are established and followed for both office and plant employees that maintain a no-defect forwarding principle.


Qualifications



  • Supervisory experience in a manufacturing/assembly plant environment

  • 7+ years of experience in materials management position, which includes expertise in Supply Chain Management, Material Sourcing, Logistics Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university

  • SAP experience in a discreet manufacturing environment;SAP implementation experience highly desirable but not required.

  • Demonstrated success of continuous improvement with lean manufacturing techniques (e.g. water spider, lean inventory planning strategies, 5S, Kanban, etc.)
