Our Payroll Manager is a key role within the WPS Finance Department and responsible for overseeing all WPS payroll related disbursements and other transactions to employees. This leader will have a strong customer service focus, leadership skills with a continuous process improvement focus and an affinity for learning, implementing and optimizing new technologies.
In this role you will:
Ensure accurate and timely payroll payment and reporting.
Create strong working relationships with WPS outsourced payroll vendor, including monitoring adherence to service level agreements.
Maintain accurate payroll accounting by working with Finance partners to properly record transactions and reconcile accounts, to include managing monthly closing of financial records, month-end accrual and related entries, preparation of account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of payroll information within financial statements.
Provide excellent customer service for WPS employees, business partners, and other stakeholders, including prompt issue resolution.
Develop Payroll talent through hiring, performance monitoring, training, and coaching.
Drive continuous improvement through proactive planning, process redesign, and system enhancements; represent Payroll teams on WPS enterprise process improvement and policy teams, including providing ideas for improvement and implementation recommendations.
Ensure WPS adherence to all regulatory requirements, including oversight of compliance with Service Contract Act regulations and interpretation and implementation of changes as required by federal and state government agencies, bargaining union contact, company policy, or benefit changes

You need to have:
U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to U.S. Department of Defense restrictions
Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent post high school and/or related work experience
3 or more years of related work and/or leadership experience
We strongly prefer:
5 or more years of payroll, accounts payable or accounting experience, to include 3 or more years of supervisory experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
Deltek (CostPoint and Time and Expense modules) experience
Demonstrated experience leading payroll processing, administration, and systems
