Job Description

The Washington Post is seeking aneditor to join ourexplanatory videoteam. This is a role for a multifaceted storyteller who canmove seamlessly between breaking news,quick-turnaroundexplainers and enterprise.

The responsibilities of this position includeediting and publishing video ofnational news eventsand creatingquick editsandstoriesthat provide context.Theidealcandidatewill also shootnews events in the field fortheir ownenterprise stories.

This position requires at least threeyearsofexperience in a fast-paced newsroom environment, strong n ews judgment and theability to multitask.Fast, proficient editing skillson Adobe productsarerequired.We are looking for an excellent collaborator who will work closely with colleagues on theNational deskand across the newsroom.

This position is based in our Washington newsroom. Once we resume normal operations, it will not be eligible for remote work. We have identified a strong internal candidate for this position but want to hear from others interested in this or related roles.
