Best Buy is seeking an Associate Product Manager – Retail Tools to join the Retail Platform Team to lead a high performing squad serving the Retail Technology Group. As an Associate Product Manager, you will partner with key internal teams to support the vision and strategy, and the management of product throughout its lifecycle. You will support the product managers in translating business strategies into product strategies, value increments, and product specifications that deliver against both our core customer value propositions and our company strategic and financial goals. You will be the product champion and evangelize the product vision effectively to stakeholders and independently drive to agreement on product requirements and direction from a wide and diverse population of product customers.

Key Responsibilities


  • Effectively craft clear product outcomes and vision for small and medium size products with limited supervision, clearly demonstrating understanding of the product goals and organizational needs

  • Grow skills in connecting Best Buy's broader strategic vision to their own product and product vision

  • Craft objectives and supporting measures of success that deliver value by solving customer problems and meeting business needs

  • Support delivery through effective sprint/backlog prioritization that advances the team's highest priorities

  • Contribute to a customer-focused team culture

  • Actively seek out, research, and suggest new ways of working and ideas for product team feedback

  • Analyze product performance through qualitative and quantitative analysis tools and processes

  • Demonstrate leadership foundations of inclusive leadership by contributing to a culture where team members feel comfortable to dissent and have a sense of belonging. Co-moderate difficult conversations with stakeholders and ensure that people leave meetings feeling heard and understood

  • Work under rapid development cycles with small to medium teams to achieve a common goal

  • Take on products with greater scope and/or higher complexity as skills evolve

  • Build skills from retroactive analysis to using data as an input to understanding customer problems

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1.5+ years of relevant experience in a professional environment/workplace setting with an emphasis on consumer products, technology, or software development

  • Track record of product outcome execution; completing and shipping excellent products that deliver clear results

  • Proven ability to articulate clear and concise requirements for new products and new features

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Marketing or related field OR equivalent combination of education and/or experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Marketing, Communications or related field

  • 2+ years related experience in a professional environment / workplace setting with emphasis on consumer products, technology, or software development

  • 1+ year of experience with Agile methodologies

  • Experience presenting to peers and leaders

  • Ability to understand basic architectural diagrams and data flows

  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional team(s) without formal authority

  • Proven ability to prioritize new feature launches based on competitive analysis, industry trends, emerging technologies, and company vision
